本单元教材内容是5B Unit 7通过一群外国孩子到上海来旅游,通过两天的行程,对上海的文化和地标有了一定的了解。在教材的Wonderland版块内容就包括了地标性建筑的词汇,如:

Yu Garden, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower等,还有中国的传统工艺制品,如:silk, Chinese knots等。还有表现上海现代化的词汇,如:modern, maglev等。在Grand Theatre版块中,文本以两天的参观游览,按时间的顺序,用第三人称过去时叙述他们的旅游过程。

【学情分析】

上海是学生生活的城市,对她相当了解。随着上海日新月异地发展,这座国际化的城市充满了活力。她是一座飞速发展、海纳百川、大气谦和的城市,吸引了大量海内外优秀人才(我们学生中的一部分家长)。所以,学生们对上海这座现代化城市,充满了热爱和自豪。学生们也曾经跟随父母,到世界其他城市旅游。他们从而进行对比,上海的魅力绝不亚于世界其他城市。于是,我们对单元进行了统整。以a group students from America来上海旅游为主线索,通过三课时的整合,将旅游从准备到成行的整个过程用三个子话题Period 1 Knowing about Shanghai; Period 2 Interesting places in Shanghai; Period 3 A visit to Shanghai,将旅行中实用的语言贯穿其中,学生们将通过一个单元的学习,初步学会准备一次旅游的方法。

【单元目标】

大部分学生能在游览上海的语境中,通过查找资料、与好友微信等方式理解、运用词汇Yu Garden, museum, Chinese knot, silk, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, view, modern, maglev和句型There is/ are.... There was/ were….学习上海旅游的准备查询资料过程和参观旅游过程。对上海的历史、天气、交通、景点和游程等方面进行介绍。

全体学生在Shanghai, a charming city单元学习中,理解运用核心词汇Yu Garden, museum, Chinese knot, silk, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, vie, modern, maglev等对上海的景点进行介绍。

Period 1 Knowing about Shanghai A group of American students are going to visit Shanghai next month. Before the visit, they have to make a project about Shanghai. So they want to know more about this city. 【history and nowadays】

Shanghai is a city with a long history. And it really changes a lot. Many years ago, Shanghai was a small fishing village. You could see some small boats on the river. Not many people lived here. Most of them were fishermen. Later, more and more people came to Shanghai and it became a port. Many big ships with goods sail into the port.

Today, Shanghai is a big modern city. You can see the tall buildings here and there in the city. A lot of people live here as well. 【seasons】

There are four seasons in a year in Shanghai. March, April and May make up the spring. June, July and August make up the summer. September, October and November make up the autumn. December, January and February make up the winter.

It’s warm and rainy in spring. The temperature is about 15℃. It’s cool and dry in autumn. The temperature is about 20℃…. 【Transportation Preference】

Period 2 Interesting places in Shanghai April 15th,2013 Monday

Sunny Today is a fine day. In the morning I visited Yu Garden, a famous beautiful garden with a history over 400 years. There is a lovely teahouse in Yu Garden. So I drank tea in it. There are many shops and restaurants in it, too. I bought many presents for my friends. And I tried some local snacks. How delicious! In the afternoon I went to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and had a bird’s eye view of Shanghai. And I took a lot of photos. Shanghai is really a beautiful modern city!

April 16th, 2013 Tuesday

Cloudy In the morning I visited Shanghai Museum. It has a modern outlook. I learned a lot in the museum. In the afternoon I enjoyed a wonderful show in Shanghai Grand Theatre. I think it’s really a good place to watch shows and listen to concerts. In the evening, I went to Nanjing Road, the most famous shopping street in Shanghai. I bought a beautiful dress in a big modern shop. And I watched the lights on Nanjing Road. How great!

April 17th, 2013 Wednesday

Cloudy This morning I went to the Bund. Walked along the Bund, I saw many buildings of different styles. They are wonderful and great. I saw the Huangpu River, too. There are many ships on it. And I saw the Oriental Pearl TV Tower in Pudong. So I took a lot of photos along the Bund. How nice! In the afternoon I left Shanghai for Beijing. I took the maglev train to the airport. The train was very fast and I felt excited. I really enjoyed my visit to Shanghai.

We are really excited to get your E-mails. Shanghai is a modern nice city. We love the city very much. We are so glad to have this chance to visit your city.
