一、整体设计思路

1. According to the English Curriculum Standards for General Senior High School, as a language, English has the function to get people who use it to acquire the culture and background of the English-speaking countries, which will improve the recognition of the use and understanding of the language, broaden students’

horizons and boost the consciousness of the world, thus promoting students’ awareness of cross-culture. 2. Based on the understanding of the convenience brought by the RealCine-Virtual reality cinema for everyone, this class aims at promoting the students’ awareness of recognizing that the technology behind RealCine has both advantages and disadvantages, and it mainly depends on how people use them.

二、教学目标

Objectives of knowledge: 1.to know how RealCine change the way we watch films 2. to know that the development of the Virtual reality cinema bringing convenience to our life Objectives of ability：

1. to understand the definition of VR 2. to analyze the advantages and disadvantages brought to us by the Virtual reality Objectives of morality：

to realize that the development of the Virtual reality has both advantages and disadvantages, and it mainly depends on how people use them

三、教学重点和难点

Teaching key points:

1. to know what the technology behind RealCine is 2. to know more about the Virtual reality cinema 3. to master and apply what they have learnt in this module Teaching difficulties: 1. to lead the students to be active in class 2. to develop the students` critical thinking skills

四、教学过程

Step1：lead- in

Activities：1. The teacher shares her story with the students. 2. The teacher shows the students how to add to the virtual world and ask them to try to understand the process.

Purposes：to arouse the students’ interest and curiosity and lead them to the task. Step 2：reading

Activities：1. The students are asked to read the passage about the VR. 2. The students are asked to answer related questions.

Purposes：to get the students familiar with the How RealCine works and get prepared for next step.

Step 3：group work Activities：1. The teacher asks the students to discuss the andvantages and disadvantages of the RealCine

2. Each group chooses one student to present their answer. Purposes：to check whether the students can understand the RealCine and how it works Step 4：supplementary reading Activities：1. The teacher asks the students What technology is behind this product? 2. The teacher guides the students to the answer “How could firefighters be trained with this new technology?”

3. The teacher uses mind mapping on the blackboard to lead to students to read the supplementary material.

Purposes：1. to attract the students’

attention by drawing on the blackboard

2. to internalize what they have learned.

Step 5：group work

Activities：

The students are to have a debate: Do you think the RealCine bring more advantages or disadvantages to us? Purposes：1. to help the students to think in English and speak in English.

2 to enable the students to recognize that the development of the Virtual reality cinema has both advantages and disadvantages, and it mainly depends on how people use them Step 6：conclusion Activities：The teacher uses a famous saying “The real problem is not whether machines think but whether men do”

by B. F. Skinner, American behaviorist and author, to make a conclusion.

Purposes：to guide the students to think objectively and critically Step 7：homework Activities：The students write a composition about the Virtual reality cinema.

Purposes：to relate what they have learned to their real life.
