The analysis of teaching material：

The teaching content is Part A Let’s learn & Let’s chant of Unit 4 We love animals of PEP Primary English Book .This unit is mainly about the animals .The lesson what I will have is a new one of Unit 4 .In section one, it mainly deals with these key words, pig、dog、cat、duck and bear.And in section two, it deals with the sentence patterns: It’s a .... Analysis of the students ：

Our students are in Grade 3 .As we all known ,they are new English learner so they just know a little bit English . But they are very active and curious. What’s more, they are interested in new things.They like playing games,singing songs and so on.

Teaching contents：

Part A Let’s learn & Let’s chant Teaching aims : A. Knowledge aim: Can listen、speak and read pig、bear、cat、dog and duck; Can introduce the animals with

the sentence pattern “It’s a ...”; B. Ability aim: Can introduce the animals with the sentence pattern “It’s a ...”；

C. Emotional aim :

Cultivate the students’

awareness of loving and protecting the animals；Present the law of protecting the wild animals 《Law of the People’s Republic of China on the protection of the wild life》. Key points &Difficult points : A. Key point:

The mastery of the five animals words and sentence pattern “It’s a ... B. Difficult point : The pronunciation of “ear/e ə(r)/’’；Can introduce the animals with the sentence pattern “It’s a ...”；

Teaching aids: Pictures、word cards、toys、box、PPT and so on. Teaching methods ：

CLT、SLT、TBLT and so on . Teaching procedure : Step one: Warming up / Lead in A. Greetings. B. Let’s sing a song《 Teddy bear》. 【

Purpose of design: This is to form a better English learning surrounding for the students. This also can stimulate the students’ interest of learning English .】

Step two. Presentation & Practice A.With the help of the PPT , creating a situation that today is Zip’s birthday , and she will have a birthday party , many animal friends will come to her party . Then showing a picture of a pig to present the word---pig and sentences “What's this ？ It's a pig.”

Teaching the students to read it,and then practicing it with “High voice &Low voice ”. At last , asking the students to write down the word on the blackboard with me with their fingers . 【

Purpose of design : The picture can attract the student’s attention ,the practice way of “High voice &Low voice”can deepen the students’ impression of the word“pig”. 】

B. Presenting the rest of four words of animals “dog、cat、duck and bear ”by the different ways , and teaching the students to read them , such as : Dog，dog，it’s a dog...Then practicing these words and the sentence pattern “It’s a ...”by different ways with the pictures or word cards. 【

Purpose of design:present the new words and sentences in the situation which relates to the

students’ real life experiences can help the students to understand the words and language easily and naturally. 】

C. After presenting each new word , I will impart the knowledge of pronunciation rules in teaching these new words.It is called Phonics. 【Purpose of design ： It can develop the students’

ability of pronouncing the new words, and help them to remember the spelling of the words.

】

Step three : Consolidation & Extension A. Play a game: Hide&Seek Rules of the game : One student comes to the platform and takes a tool of animal out of the treasure box,but to make it open we should say the magic words : We love animals !We love animals ! then act the animal out ,asking other students to guess . At last , hiding the tool and let other students help him/her to find it with different voice.If he/she comes close, saying the word loudly and loudly;On the contrary, just saying the word with lower and lower voice. Until he or she find it .

B. Let’s sing Making a new song with the new sentences and words by using the rhythm of the song 《 Teddy bear》. For example: What's this ? What's this ? It's a pig. What's this ? What's this ? It's a dog. What's this ? What's this ? It's a cat . What's this ? What's this ? It's a duck/bear. C. Send the animals home. Let one student come to the platform to choose one picture of animals , then showing it to the other students and asking them to say the word out . At last , the students just tries his/her best to put the picture near the corresponding word on the board. D. Let’s chant Play the flash of Let's chant, ask the students to follow it.

Let’s drive the train Put the five key words “ pig、dog、cat、bear、duck”on the train to help the students summarize the key points of this class.

F. Emotional education

Cultivate the students’ awareness of loving and protecting the animals by showing some wild animals pictures , such as , tiger 、bird、koala and panda , and then tell the students that we should love the animals.At last , Present some knowledge of《Law of the People’s Republic of China on the protection of the wild life》to the students. 【 Purpose of design : The purpose of these activities can help the students to consolidate their memories of the new words and sentences in a happy and relaxing environment . 】

Step four : Homework A. Act the animals we have learned today out to your parents. B. Make five word cards with the new words we have learned today. 【 Purpose of design : Consolidate the five animals words and develop the students’ ability of practice .】

Blackboard design :

【 Purpose of design : Different colors of the cute cartoons can draw the attention of the students and this also can help the students under the new words and sentences easily and naturally. 】

Teaching reflection of this period （教学反思）:

At the beginning of the class , I asked the students to sing a song << Teddy bear >>. It helped them to have a good mood when we were having the lesson.Then I presented the five new words and sentences by creating a situation that Zip would have a birthday party and

many animals would come to celebrate her birthday , this relates to the students’ real life experience , so they could understand the new words and sentences easily . Boys and girls had a PK stimulated their interest of this class , so they were so excited . What’s more , I imparted the knowledge of pronunciation rules when I taught them to read the new words, it helped them to memorize the spelling of the new words much easier . Due to the students’ age and English level , I set four activities ( hide and seek、send animals home、let's sing and let's chant ) in the class , after finishing doing these activities the students had already had a good memory of the new words and sentences , because they liked playing these activities very much . As a result , most of the students could master the key words and sentences very well by the end of the class , but a few students were still needed to have more practice . However , because of my carelessness and nervousness, I forgot to take my little pictures which needed in the part of “ Send the animals home ”, as a consequence , I couldn’t do it well here. Meanwhile ,

because I remember a wrong time of the class , so I didn’t arrange the time of this class so reasonably. As a consequence , I ended the class two minutes early . Whatever,I have learned a lot from this lesson and I will spare no efforts to make a progress of my teaching skills And won’t make the same mistakes in the future classes.
