一、

Analysis the teaching materials 2012年新人教版三年级英语下册Unit 3 At the zoo第二课时，包括Part A 的Let’s learn和Let’s do两个内容，是一节词汇课，主要教学几个形容动物体型的词：thin、fat、tall、short，并能运用Look at … It’s …的句型来形容动物的体型。在上册我们已经认识了一些动物名称，老师以旧引新，有效突破了本课的难点。学完本单元后，学生不仅可以描述动物的形体，还可以描述人或其他事物，对今后的学习起着至关重要的作用。

二、Analysis the learning situation 三年级是小学生学习英语的基础阶段，这一阶段的重要任务在于激发并保持学生学习英语的兴趣。他们有着极强的求知欲和表现欲，生性活泼好动，喜欢直观形象思维，对游戏、竞赛、画画特别感兴趣。因此，在设计课堂教学活动时我借助图片，肢体动作，动画等创设直观的教学情境，采用玩、猜、做、说、画等灵活多样的教学方法来吸引他们的注意，让他们在针对性强的活动中来学习英语。努力营造玩中学，学中玩的教学氛围。

Teaching aims Knowledge aims:

(1)能够听、说、认读thin、fat、tall、short四个形容词。

(2)能够在图片的帮助下听懂指令、做出相应的动作，并说唱歌谣：“Be fat，Be fat，Be fat fat fat”…

Ability aims：

能够在教师提供的语境中运用thin、fat、tall、short四个词及句型：Look at … It’s …

来描述动物的外形特征。

Emotion aims：

渗透爱护动物、保护动物的教育。

六、Teaching processes

Step 1 Warm-up (1)Show a picture of the zoo T:What can you see in the picture? S:Panda,elephant…

(2)PPT show a picture of panda, teacher make a dialogue with students, then students practice in pairs.

Eg: T: What’s this? Ss: It’s a panda. S1: What’s this? S2: It’s a panda. (3)Show more pictures about animals, students practice in groups. Step 2 Presentation (1)

Show a picture of a fat monkey, students describe it, teacher teaches the word “fat” in different ways at this time(games: high and low sounds, blow balloons, tree grows etc. ).

After practice, teacher and students write the word together, when write the word, we should according to the pronunciation. (3)

Then practice the word in the sentence: Be fat，Be fat，Be fat fat fat. Students do actions while reading.

Teach other words in the same way(when teach the word “thin”, we should emphasize the pronunciation of “th”). (5)

Listen to the tape, students follow the tape. Teacher flash the four words, students read them quickly.

Step 3 Practice (1)

Listen to the tape of Let’s do two times, they should only listen for the first time, when listen to it for the second time, they should say and do with the tape. (2)

When teacher show a word card, students should read the word aloud and spell it quickly.

Step 4 Consolidation and extension (1)

Describe the animals with the words we have learned. (2)

We also can use these words to describe other things. Step 5 Sum-up

八、Teaching reflection

I lead in this class with the dialogue, first we reviewed

some animals we have learned, then according to these animals, we learned the words which describe the characters of animals. When we learned the new words, I used some games( high and low sounds, blow balloons, tree grows etc.) and body languages, they stimulated the students’

senses, I also used chant to consolidate the new words we have learned, it improves the students’ enthusiasm for learning. Then I checked the situation of students’

mastery of new knowledge. In this part, most students have mastered the knowledge of this class. In this class, there was a difficulty: the pronunciation of “th”, students could not pronounce it very well, they should practice it more and more after class. practice makes perfect.

九、Safe tips：We should far away from the beasts when we go to the zoo, we also should protect the animals.
