Ⅰ. Teaching content: Part C Story time, Unit 2, Book 1,PEP.

Analysis of the content:

The main purpose of this period is to help students review the words of the colours they learned and go on to learn some words and sentences. Students will get more language input in a reading atmosphere. They will know more about knowledge Ⅱ. Teaching target: Students of grade 3.

Analysis of the students :

Students have learned some colours,such as red, yellow, green, blue and so on. And they can use simple sentences to describe them.On the basis of it, we go on to talk about the words and learn some more sentences. In this class,students not only should know the names of colours, but also should know something about the descriptions of them.

Ⅲ. Teaching aims and demands:

Step One

Warm up

( 2’ ) Ss watch a song video about the rainbow.

(Purpose: Watching a video before class begins can catch Ss’

attention and make them be ready for class , it also helps them know what we will learn about today.) Step Two

Lead-in ( 4’ ) 1.Free-talk.

T: Hello, boys and girls. Are you ready for my class?... Now look! I have a bag.In my bag, there is something, can you guess what it is?

S1: It’s a flower.

S2: ...

T: Now listen! (Play the recorder) What colour is it?

Ss: It’s red.

(Purpose:

Showing a bag and making Ss guess is good to attract Ss’

attention. Meanwhile, we lead in the topic naturally.) 2.Ss watch the song video again. Then talk with the teacher as follows:

T: What colours do you see in the song?

S4: I see red,green,bule,yellow….

(Purpose:This step is to help Ss review the colours words .they have learned. And check if they can use what we learn in this unit to remember words) Step Three

Presentation ( 15’ ) 1.Scene presentation:

T:Our school has a park .Who are in the park?

Ss: guess...

T: OK, they are zoom and zip. 2.flowers showing.

T: Look, there are many flowres here. What colours?

a.First read and guess S: red, bule, yellow

(Purpose: this step is to help Ss know “flower”words)

c. Dialogue showing.

T: play the recorder

(Students listen and try to judge.)

T: paly it again and modle it.

Show the key sentences (Help Ss understand the sentences meanwhile: remember the words and get ready for new lesson.)

(Purpose: Creating a scene for Ss to complete the tasks makes Ss feel it’s a game which we can go through happily. The tasks are designed from easy ones to difficult ones. Ss get the target

words and the key sentences naturally.)

Step Four

Practice

( 6’ ) 1.Ss read the dialogues after the recorder.

2.Ss do the pair-work: role play the dialogues.

3. Teacher covers some key words and make Ss role play the dialogues.

(Purpose: The tasks of this step are easy and attached to the text, which pave the way for the next activities.)

Step Five

Extension ( 5’ ) 1.Do it.

T: give Ss some colours and find diffrerent colours.

Ss feed the animals and say as follows: This is for the horse/...

(Purpose: this step is to help Ss find that learning is happy.) Step Six

Consolidation ( 8’ )

1.Ss reconganise” Olympic sympol”and know some more knowledge.

2. Have a match(retell the story)

(Purpose: This is the output of this period of class.Ss work in groups and check their language getting and creation.)

IX. Homework

Retell this story for your parents. Draw different colours words for your mum. (Purpose: It is to consolidate the language points and show Ss’

In this class, the key point is to help Ss go on to learn some words. The text itself is boring. So I create a scene and add many activities to make it more interesting . Ss are eager to learn. The sense of ownership can make them active in class. They are willing to protect environment.

The activities are designed from easy ones to challenging ones . Ss of every stage can do and learn a lot. I think Ss can get to the presupposed target after learning this period.
