Step 1 Free talk T: Do you like ghost stories? Why?/Why not?

Are there any ghosts in the world? What do you think of “The ghost in the park” in our book?

Step 2 Text revision Divide the text into three parts and ask the students to find out the main idea of each part. Part 1 Line 1--- Line 7 Millie and Amy heard the ghost in the park Part 2 Line 8--- Line 13 Andy helped them find out the ghost. Part 3 Line 14--- Line 16 They took the little cat to the animal center. 【设计意图：通过划分段落及概括段落主要意思让学生基本了解Reading结构及内容。】

Step 3 Detailed Reading and Explanation 1. Read Line1--Line2

(1)Fill in the blanks and talk about:

Step 4 Retell the story Ask some students to retell the story in their own words, following the organization of the passage 【设计意图：通过复述课文的方式对课文内容进行巩固复习，为下面的写作打好基础。】

Step 5 Summarize some useful expressions (1)Translate some phrases. (Ask them to pay attention to the simple past tense.) (2) Tell them this blog is a narration. (3)Teach them how to write a narration. 【设计意图：通过列出文中的动词短语让学生初步了解一般过去式以及动词过去式的构成；同时告诉学生这是一篇记叙文，通过这么多的学习让他们明白该从哪些方面来写好记叙文。】

Step 5 Writing Show students some pictures and the first part of a story. Ask them to finish the rest of the story by using their imagination. T:Pay attention to the tense and spelling and try to make your story interesting and creative.

【设计意图：通过解读图片帮助学生根据图片编写故事，要求学生把故事落实到文字上，注意拼写和时态，要求故事有趣生动，鼓励学生尽可能运用本课所学语言点，真正学以致用。】
