(C. Story time)

I.

Teaching material analysis:

The story is quite interesting about Hide and seek. Zoom and Zip are playing in the bedroom. The prepositions in, on, under and their general questions will be used in the sentences: “Where are you? Under the table ? Under the bed? In the toy box? I can’t find you. I’m behind you.” Students read the story and try to act it out with their partners.

Students’ learning situation analysis:

Students are in Grade Three. They’ve grown up older and they are still curious and active in their daily learning life. They have mastered some basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Different games and activities are welcome for them in the teaching presentations.

Teaching aims:

1. Knowledge aims:

a. Students could be able to listen, read, and speak “Where are you? Under the table ? Under the bed? In the toy box? I can’t find you. I’m behind you.”

b. Students could be able to listen, read, and speak table, bed, find and behind.

2. Ability aims:

a. Students could put the sentence structures “Where are you? Under the table ? Under the bed? In the toy box? I can’t find you. I’m behind you.” into practice, and use them in daily life.

c. Students could pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation while they listen to the dialogues and talk to their partners.

Step 1 Warming-up.

Enjoy a game: Hide and seek. Students get familiar with the sentences: Under the table, in the basket, behind the newspaper.

Read the story and answer the questions. 5.

Read the dialogues after the record. 6.

Students read the story by themselves. Then they work with partners to practice the dialogues. 7.

Act out the story with real emotion.

Step 3 Practice

Students draw the things on the pictures and talk about them using the target language .

Step 4 Consolidation

Watch the video about friendship and talk about the best friend they have.

Step 5 Summary

Friend in need is a friend indeed. We love our life and love our friends.
