Step1.复习提问

Review the grammar points they learned in Module 6.

Step2.导入新课

Discuss the Internet and mobile phone with Ss. Ask Ss about their using time of the computer or phone.

Step3. Group Work(speaking) 1.Discuss the meaning of these compound nouns. Credit card; internal call; international call; Mobile phone; text message; video camera. Translate the short passage on Page 57. Find the important message and discuss in group. Brainstorming: the usage of mobile phone? The functions?

Ask ss to practice and correct their mistakes. Evaluate the performance of each group.

2.

Do a class survey. Mainly usage; the numbers of phone users. Ask one student to act an interviewer or reporter, do a survey in their own class.

Step 4. Everyday English Role play. Practice the basic expression that spoken in a store. Let Ss choose their favorite role and practice the expressions.

Step 5. Listening Pre-listening Help Ss grasp the key information and stress the important information. (1)

Individual Work. Look at the extract from the interview. Underline the words that you think are important and should be stressed. (2)

Discuss the different answers and let Ss explain their reasons.

Post-listening Group Work. Listen again and check. Help Ss retell the conversation using the information we just listened. Your own words or sentences will be allowed.

Step 6.课堂小结

Ask the leader of each group to give a brief conclusion. Help Ss summarize what they have learnt in this class.

Step 7. 课后作业

1.

Make sentences by using the expressions had learnt today with pairs. 2. Review what we have learnt today and try to make some sentences by using the words we just learnt. 3. Preview cultural corner.
