This reading passage titled First Aid

for Burns is a test from a book called First Aid for the Family .It is a quick--reference book which is organized under headings in such way that readers can quickly find the information they want . This passage introduces a lot of useful new words and expressions ,in order not to let students feel much difficult ,the teacher should deal with any language problems while they are reading . The analysis of learners In terms of learners, the students are supposed to be Grade Two students . They have achieved certain English level, so they should have no difficulty in understanding the main idea of the reading passage. Also, the passage is about aid, which is an interesting and highly relevant to daily life, so their learning interests will be much more aroused. However, they may have difficulty in expressing their own opinion in English fluently and accurately as well as in understanding some new words. Teaching aims

According to teaching material and , in order to fulfill the learning task of this lesson, I establish the following teaching aims:

knowledge aim.

1.Get students to learn the useful new words and expressions in this part. 2.Let student learn about some first aid knowledge 3.Have students read the passage and know about burns and first aid treatment for burns. The second aim refers to ability aim.

Students will improve their ability to think and find information by themselves. They can identify the general meaning through fast reading.And in intensive reading their abilities of information-gathering and summarizing are developed. The students will develop their reading skills such as scanning, skimming, information-gathering. .

The third aim refers to emotional aim.

In this class,I will stimulate students’

interest in first aid and learn to protect themselves or help others when something happens . By the end of the class, the students will have more courage to express themselves and communicate with each other. Important and difficult points 1.Know how to make a travel plan 2.A basic knowledge about different cultures 3.From this unit ,develop the students’ comprehensive language abilities

Leading in . T: Last class, we learned that when people suddenly fall ill or get injured in daily life , we should give them some temporary help or treatment that is called First Aid . Now ,think about this question : Is there any other common accident we will meet ? Let us look at this picture : What has happened to the little girl? S: She is get burnt .

T:Yes ,what first aid can we do ? Maybe you have known something , today we will learn more about First Aid for Burns. Step2、Fast reading Ask students to read the passage quickly ,then

finish the following two tasks : 1.Choose best answers .(two questions) This task is in order to let

students know the skin is an important part of our body. 2.Order the five sentences which are the topics of this reading .In other words ,this is the main idea of every part of this passage.

1.Do True or False exercises.If students want to finish this task ,they should read the passage quickly .
