Step 1 Greetings.

Greet the Ss as usual.

Step 2 Warming up 1. Show a picture of a fairy on the screen and get the students to answer the following question: If you met a fairy one day, what would you wish her to give you?

2. Get the students to answer the following question in class and show the

students two pictures. What kind of person can be regarded as a truly healthy person?

1.Why do you think some adolescents start smoking? 2. The harmful effects of smoking. 3. The suggestions on stopping smoking.

Step 4 Writing

Supposing you are James’ grandpa, write a letter to your grandson about his problem.

Step 5 Showing and correcting

Ask students to exchange their compositions and correct the mistakes Show 2 or 3 compositions of the students and correct them .

Step6 Homework

1. Find out the difficult points for you of the text. 2. Analyze the sentences containing “it” in the text.
