---Entering a new sport into the Olympics教学设计

Teaching plan:

1.

Students get relevant information concerning centering a new sport into the Olympics. 2.

Student build critical thinking after a decision regarding sex difference in Olympic participation. 3.

Students broaden their horizon by reading a supplementary reading material on Electronic Sports.

4.

Students make a sport speech and show attitudes and reasons after reading.

Teaching Procedure: As the project part is lucid and practical, it can be used for specific information. Meanwhile, supplementary material is also necessary for advanced Jiangsu students. I.

Pre-reading

活动目的：通过刚发生（昨天）的身边的事例（艺术节上精彩的武术表演）导入体育项目加入奥运会这一话题。

1)

Lead-in: Show a picture of them watching wushu on the previous day, which is apart of the Art Festival.

2)

Question: Do you hope to see wushu in the Olympics? How can we enter it into the Olympics?

II.

Reading: 活动目的：通过四个问题引导阅读文章四个段落并寻找关键信息，如：体育项目加入奥运会的要求。同时引申批判性思维，比如：如何看待对男性、女性参与度要求不同？拓展信息，如：武术是作为体操的一项来申请入奥运会的。

Flash-watching with questions: 1)

How does a sport enter the Olympics? ---Meet the requirements of the IOC :

Speech: Can e-sports enter the Olympics? 活动目的：总结性发言，并注意前面reading部分提到语体，在speech首尾要打招呼和致谢。

Students from “positive” side, “negative” side, and “neutral” side present their viewpoints.

Conclusion: 活动目的：展望将来并鼓励包容，升华主题。

As 5 items has been added to the coming Tokyo Olympics, we should open our heart for new sports items, for the prosperity and diversity of the Olympics.

Homework: Write down your attitude and viewpoints in 80 words.
