Unit6 Toys
Teaching Content: the third person singular
Teaching Aims: Students are able to
1) understand the third person singular
2) try to communicate with the structure: Does he/she want a …? What does he/she want?
Key Points: the third person singular
Difficult Points: the third person singular
Teaching Aids: PPT, video, flash cards, book and toys
Teaching Procedure
Step 1. Warming up
1. Greetings. (What day…? What’s the date…? What’s the weather…? What do you do on …?)
2. Talk about the target.
Step 2. Revision
1. Review the words in this unit. (Students read the words together)
2. Ask and answer
T takes out the toys and asks: Do you want a …?.
Have Ss ask and answer.
3. Sing the song. (Do you want a toy bear)
Step 3. Presentation
1.Elicit the new structures: Does he/she..? (help students answer “Yes, he/she does. No, he/she doesn’t.)
2.Look and say.
3.Pair work.
4.Look at the pictures and answer the question: Does she want a toy plane? And then elicit “What does he/she want?”
5.Have Ss choose the right answer and pay attention to s.
6. Look and say. (Practice the structure: He/She wants a .., a … and a ….
7. Pair work. (Have Ss practice in pairs)
Step 4. Extension
At the toy shop.
---Have Ss read the passage and answer the question: What does Ken ---want?
---Read again the judge the sentences.
---Check it out.
---Read and fill in the blanks.
Step5 Sum up &Homework:
1. Go over the words and structures.
2. Do a survey after class
