T: Listen to some sounds carefully, and guess what they are doing now. Then ask the students to answer.

The present participle T: Look at these words. How to add “ing” after these words? There are three rules. What are they? Can you find out?

Ask the students to find out the rules. A. 1+1=2 , such as:

eat + ing = eating

sleep + ing = sleeping B. Delete the silent “e”, then add “ing”: having, dancing... C. Double the last letter: swimming, running... 4. Practice
