Ⅰ. The teaching design concept

The new English curriculum standard shows having English class is not only request the students to learn and practice, then master English knowledge and skills; but also they should improve the basic ability of language. Teaching activity is a kind of purposeful, planned activity. In order to achieve certain teaching goals, the teacher need to make the system of teaching activities planning. Through the teaching design, teachers' teaching activities can be going successfully. First, the teaching goal design will be based on students' development. Second, the teaching process design will be based on teaching to the student main body participation Third, the teacher should guide students to participate in the course fully. Ⅱ. The Media design In order to guide students to understand and grasp the text content better, I will use the multimedia means to show the key and difficult problems in the process of teaching. The multimedia means are as

Ⅳ. The teaching aims

Knowledge Objective

Students will master words and phrases: drive, walk, ride,on foot, by car and so on. On the base of the words, students can use the sentences fluently. --- Do you walk to school? --- No, I go to school by bus. How do you go to school? --- I go to school on foot/ by bike. 2.

Ability Objective Cultivate the students’

speaking ability according to the pictures. Develop students’ listening and talking abilities and train

their abilities of working in groups. 3.

Moral Objective Cultivate the interest of learning English and mater the names of transportation. . Ⅴ. The key points and difficult points a.

The key points are to master the new words phrases and sentence structures. b.

The difficult point is to use the words to describe their ways of transportation freely and correctly. Ⅵ. The teaching aids I’ll use the multimedia project to show Lesson 16 How Do You Go to School? Ⅶ. The teaching procedures

Step1. Greeting and Warming-up

After greeting with the students, I will begin new lesson by asking the questions. Purpose: By greeting , students can have interests to learn new lesson. T: How’s the weather today? Ss: It’s sunny. T: How do you feel?

S1: I feel sad. S2: I feel happy. Purpose: From greeting, students will be happy to start the new lesson during the relaxing atmosphere. Step2.New Concepts

1. Lead-in. Show the pictures and ask them how they go to school. T: Look at the pictures.How do you go to school? S1: I go to school by bus. T: How do you go to school? S2: I go to school by car. T: How about you? S3: I go to school on foot. T: How about you? S4: I go to school by bike. Purpose: Look at the pictures of the transportation.Let students express their own ideas,so that they review the old knowledge.

2. Study the words by sentences.

(1) walk T: This is my house.Is it beautiful?

Ss: Yes. T: Is my house far from the school? Ss: No,it’s near the school. T: So I live _____ the school.Who can fill in the blank. S1: I live near the school. T: How do I go to school? Ss: You . T: Yes, I go to school on foot./I walk to school. (2) drive T: Who is he? Ss: This is Steven. T: How does he go to school? Can you guess? Ss: By bus, by bike ... T: Maybe,listen, what does Steven say?(play the media) Explain the key points of drive. (3) ride T: How do you go to school? Ss:I go to school on foot. T: Please read after me-- ride a bike. Ss: ride a bike(three times) T: How do you go to school? Ss:I ride a bike to school.

Purpose: On the base of the pictures, Ss accept the new ones naturally. Ss like the vivid pictures to study new words and phrases. 3. Do the exercise.

(1) --- How do you go to school? --- I go to school _______. --- I ______ school. (2) --- How do you go to the supermarket? --- My mother _______ me. --- I go to the supermarket ______. (3) --- How do they go to the park? --- They go to the park _______. --- They _______. Purpose: Students want to show themselves, so they try to fill in the blank actively. 4. Learn the text.

(1) Enjoy the video and answer the questions. (2) Encourage the students to read by groups. (3) Divide the students into two groups and have a match. Purpose:

Students will be interested in the vivid flash. They can answer

the questions efficiently.Finally they have a PK actively.

Step3. Practice

Let students to act out in pars. A: Do you walk to school? B: No, I don’t. A: How do you go to school? B: I go to school on foot/ by bike..... Or I walk to school/ ride my bike/..... Purpose: Practice makes perfect. Doing more exercise can master the knowledge well. Step4. Consolidation

Let’s chant Play the flash ,follow to read. Consolidate the knowledge learnt today. Purpose: Ss greatly welcome the chant, so they will be interested in practicing the sentences again, so the class efficiency is improved. Step5. Homework

1. Read the text more times. 2. Make a conversation as follows:

Because they are attracted by the interesting teaching method. The shortage is the time-arranging. Students can not act out fully. If time allows, their performance will be more excellent.
