本单元的主要情境是Grand Theatre板块语篇What makes the weather? Wonderland板块中的单词均出自语篇中。Farmland板块中的两篇对话一则是用目标句型表述去学校方式的变化;一则是询问老师的相关信息,进行新旧比较。这两段对话主要是对目标句型进行操练,与主要情境天气的形成缺少关联性。
学情分析
学生掌握情况及可能对教材的处理

对于本课Wonderland板块中,shine和become都作为目标单词分别在5A U10和5A U4的Wonderland中作为目标单词出现过,学生能够理解、认读和拼写,但是在shine的动词不同时态的动词适当变化方面,部分学困生存在薄弱环节。其它的单词earth, comfortable, heat, raindrop, air, a kind of都是非课标核心单词,本单元只要求学生能够正确朗读,知道含义。

本课Farmland板块中,学生要学习的是I/ You/ He/ She/ We/ You/ They did… I/ You/ He/ She/ We/ You/ They do (does)…巩固比较一般现在时和过去式的用法,并能体会过去和现在的变化。学生存在的主要问题是:一、一般现在时的三单一用法,仍有部分学生知道,但是不能牢固掌握,回答和答题时容易疏忽;二、不能体会过去和现在的变化,从而选用合适的动词形式进行表达。故将会以对话一为主线,让学生通过体验,能正确使用和表达。

本单元中Grand Theatre中的主文本是一篇说明文,主要记叙了不同天气形成的过程和原因。对学生的理解有较高的要求,也相对比较枯燥,部分学生难以理解。故融入语境Winnie和他的朋友讨论喜欢的天气,借Robin之口说出多云天、雨天和晴天形成的过程和原因,激发学生的兴趣,通过思维到图的方式帮助学生理解What makes the weather? 学生对相关主题的兴趣和熟悉度及内容整合
学生对weather这个主题并不陌生,在之前的学习中都接触过,能围绕自己喜欢的天气、在这种天气下能干什么事情进行表达,并能听懂相关的天气预报了解温度和一天中天气的变化。本课是一篇说明文,学生比较陌生,其中涉及到的不同天气情况的形成对学生的理解来说有一定的难度。学生对what makes the weather?这个话题,之前的了解比较少。
我将本单元的主题定为What makes the weather?,分课时话题分别为1st Period, What kind of weather do you like?通过学习语篇Winnie, Piglet,Rabbit,Tiger述自己所喜爱的天气和相关词汇,能对故事内容进行复述,并能描述自己喜欢的天气以及在这种天气下能做的事情。2nd Period What makes cloudy weather? 通过学习故事Winnie和朋友们跳小水塘的故事,介绍了小水塘从变小到消失的原因,
同时展现了多云天的成因。3rd Period What makes rainy 2
weather? 通过学习Winnie和朋友们跳小水塘的故事,从小水塘是由下雨而积成的,介绍了下雨天以及雨的形成。

Period 2 What makes cloudy weather? It’s a bright sunny day. But the ground is still wet after the rain. Piglet puts on his rain shoes and goes outside. “Let’s jump in the puddles,” Winnie says. “Let’s ask Rabbit to play!” says Piglet.
When they go back, Winnie’s puddle is small. Piglet can’t find his puddle. Where did it go?
Soon they meet Robin. “We can’t find Piglet’s puddle,” Winnie says. Robin laughs and says “Come with me.” Robin says “It’s in the sky. Look, the sun gives off lots of heat. The sun’s heat can dry up a puddle. The water in the puddle becomes part of the air. The water in the air becomes clouds. Then it is a cloudy day. “I see” Piglet says, “Look, the clouds in the sky are so beautiful!”

What makes rainy weather? Winnie enjoys rainy days. He can do many things on rainy days. But he doesn't know what makes a rainy day. He asks his friend Robin to help him. Robin says, “ The water on the ground becomes part of the air. The water in the air becomes clouds. The clouds get heavy with water, and the water turns into raindrops. Then we have a rainy day.”Now Winnie is happy. And he knows what makes a rainy day.5
