Step Ⅰ

Revision and Lead-in

Greet students as usual. Prepare some pictures with words related to clothing and prices in them and ask about these pictures.

T: Morning, everyone! Very nice to see you again. How are you today? S: We are all fine, thank you.

T:Do you like going shopping? S:Yes,I do. T:Do you know how to ask price?OK,this class,we will learn how to ask prices. Well, look at the pictures about clothing.

Show the following on the screen: a white

hat , a black T-shirt, a blue jacket, a yellow sweater , a green skirt.

yellow shorts, brown shoes, black pants , white socks. Then ask : How much is this white hat?

S: It’s three dollars. Then look at other pictures ,divide them into several groups, let students ask and answer in pairs. S1: How much are the brown shoes? S2: They’re seven dollars. S1: How much are the black pants? S2: They’re eight dollars. ...

Step Ⅱ

Reading and speaking ( part 3a) Teach the new words . Then show the conversations and the pictures on the screen.

Then repeat the conversations with some other students. Give students two or three minutes to practice in pairs. And then present the conversation about shopping. Show three boxes on the screen,ask them to try to make up a new sentence like this: How much is this black T-shirt? How much is that white hat? T: Now please try to use these words to make up new sentences. The first one is done for you. Then ask students to practice 3a. T: Now work in pairs. Look at the pictures on the screen of 3a. Ask and answer in pairs to practice the conversation in 3a.

Then let some groups come to the front of the class.

Ask and answer like this: A:How much is this black T-shirt? B:It’s nine dollars. A:How much is that green skirt? B:It’s eight dollars. A:How much are these blue pants?
