Enable students to know the following words: cup, pen, key, jacket, ruler, quilt, map, orange and etc. Sentence structure: What’s this/that in English?

Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warming-up. 1)

Ask students to enjoy a song “What’s this?” Then lead Ss to sing it together. 2)

Present different kinds of things to students one by one, ask students to stand up and say it loudly. 3)

Ask students to read them together.

Lead students to sing with these new words, using the sentence structure in the song.

Step 2. Listening. 1)

Ask students to look at the pictures in 3a, and lead students to say the things one by one. 2)

Listen and number the pictures 1-8. 3)

Then check the answers together. 4)

Listen and complete the words in 3a. Ask two students to write their answers on the blackboard. 5)

Ask other students to check and correct mistakes if there is any. Step 3. Practice. 1)

Listen to the conversation and repeat after it. 2)

Lead students to look at the picture. Ask and answer.
