Teaching steps: Step One: Leading-in T: There are many people living around us , and we call the people who live next to our houses neighbours. Yes or no ? S: Yes. T: OK! Today we will learn unit 6 neighbours .(writing the topic on the blackboard and read after me.)

Step Two: Teaching new words T: We have lots of neighbours , and they have different kinds of jobs. Now look at the pictures. Picture one: T: What does the man do? S: He is a cook . T: Good! (writing on the blackboard) Where does he work ? S: He works in a restaurant . T: Yes . You are all very clever boys and girls .( read after me ) I Think ,if your father is a cook , you will be happy every day . Because you can have delicious food every day. Yes ? Picture two:

T: What does he do ? S: A Waiter . T: What does she do ? S: A Waitress. . T: A waiter refers to a man , and a waiter refers to a woman. (writing on the black board and read after me .) Picture three: T: What is the woman? S: She is a teacher . T: Who are the boys and girls ? S: They are students. T and S: They look very happy. T: The teachers give us lot of knowledge and teach us how to be a good student ,so we must respect our teachers . Picture four: T: What does the man in white do ? S: He is a doctor. T: What does the woman do ? S: She is a nurse. T and S: They work in a hospital. Picture five: T: What does the man do ? S: A postman. (write onto the blackboard and read after me .) T: Where does he work ? Picture Six: T: What does the old man do ? And where does he work? S: He is a farmer and he works on a farm.( If my students can not answer my questions ,I can prompt them.) T: The picture reminds me of an old poem called “ wedding the young cereal”.And the poem is very famous. The picture and the poem make me think of that the farmers are very hard. Do you think so? And do you want to be a farmer? S: No.

T: If you do not to be a farmer ,you must study hard every day .But we should not look down on them, on the contrary ,we must thank them ,because ,they provide the cereal for us .Yes? Read after me . Let us play a game called “guessing words”.OK ? If you are the winner , I will give you a pen as a present .Put up your hands ,please. Do not be shy , be relaxed. I must encourage my boys and girls.
