Consolidation:About the Olympic spirits

Read the given materials and then say something about the Olympic spirits and if you were one of them what would you do? Material 1:2008

Material 2:

It was an extraordinary night. The noisy Mexico City gradually calmed down. The main stadium of

the Olympic track and field competition was covered in the darkness.

After he finished making the scenes of the marathon winners receiving the prizes, Greenspan,

the world famous news documentary producer was about to leave for the hotel for a rest when he

suddenly saw a bandaged marathon athlete run into the stadium. This man ran completely

Out of breath, but he didn’t stop. After he ran along the runway for a circle and got to the goal,

he collapsed on the ground.

Out of curiosity, he went over to ask why the athlete insisted on running to the goal.

The young man

replied, "That my country sent me here from more than 20 000 kilometers is not to let

me only get off the starting line in the competition, but to make me complete the game. I have a sacred goal like them: I will run to the goal. Though the audience won’t cheer me any more, my

motherland is watching me devotedly from behind. "

Tears poured from Greenspan’s eyes.

Soon, he spread the most touching scene in the history of the Olympic Games to every corner of

the world.

Life should have a dream of reaching the peak, yet we should understand not everybody has

the ability to do it. The most important is not whether we can get to the peat whether we have

made the greatest efforts — to reach the goal in the mind is a success.
