Multi-media，blank paper 【学情介绍：】1615班为高二理科创新班，英语有一定基础，但是因为是理科班英语不是特别拔尖。这段时间一直在进行高二学考复习，学生觉得有点枯燥，正好复习到模块4第三单元，我就在想是不是可以从这个虚拟世界的科技话题找到一个学生们感兴趣的主题来放松一下，看来这个话题很对学生的胃口：）

V. Teaching Procedures

Step 1 Revision and Leading-in Revise what the Ss have learned the last day-Give me a word or a phrase from yesterday.

Do it as a group work. They can say Pass if they cant remember any but they can win a point for their group if they tell a word or phrase from yesterday correctly.

Then show the class the objectives of this period:

【教学反思：】这个环节用于复习先天所学的内容，操作起来很简单。可以用于个人，小组和全班活动。因为每天都做，学生配合很好。基本上给的都是昨天课堂上学的或者用的词汇。但是因为这堂课是请班上学生录制的，我们课程已经上了快十分钟学生才告诉我他忘记按录制，所以得重新开始，因为时间关系，这一部分在重录时只能遗憾地省略了。因为这个原因，整个课程就只剩30多分钟啦。

Step 2 Tasks-Video games Pre-task What are video games? Show the students pictures of different games. Ask the Ss what they are. Lead the students to the topic of video games. Ask the Ss what the video games are. Check how many students play video games and free talk about why they like video games. What are these?

While-task Video games

Talk about the history of the video games. Get the students try the game- Noughts and Crosses as group competitions.

When was the first computer game made?•1952A.S. Douglas created the first documented computer game Noughtsand Crosses in university.

Then talk about role playing games-players, roles, characters, levels, ranks and the game goals, etc.

Role Playing Game (RPG)•pretend to be someone else•go on an adventure•often, slay the boss and save the world

Post-task Design new video games

Ask the students to work in groups to design their own video games.

Design your own video game•Single player, multiplayer or MMO?•Who are the characters?•It is first person or third person?•Who are the bosses?•What are the worlds/levels?•What is the quest? (save a friend?)

【教学反思：】因为学生对这个话题很感兴趣，所以对每一个环节学生的参与热情很高，包括女生都很积极参与。

Step 3 Presentation

Group competition:

One student from each group volunteer to talk about the design of the new game. Grade the game 1- 3 credits with the whole class. PresentationOne person in each group will present the game to the class.

【教学反思：】在小组活动时我发现各个组都讨论很积极，最后每个大组都有学生上来展示，设计的游戏类型各不相同，学生们还是非常有创意的。

Ask the students to write a short passage to introduce their new video games.
