Teaching Plan for Revision of Non-finite Verbs Type：Revision

Revision of Non-finite Verbs

【教学内容】本堂课的内容是高三第二轮复习中关于非谓语动词做状语和定语的

复习。非谓语动词是高考中的难点和要点，目前主要在短文填空和语法改错这两

种题型中出现。在高二年级学生已经学过非谓语动词做状语和定语。今天主要通

过阅读一篇文章和讲解文章中有关非谓语动词做状语和定语的句子来帮助学生

回顾语法要点，再通过一系列练习来巩固和强化要点。

I. Teaching aims

1. Guide the students to review the usage of the non-finite verbs which are used as

attributive and adverbial.

2. Enable the students to know the difference between finite verbs and non-finite

verbs.

3. Consolidate the grammar through different kinds of exercise.

II. Teaching focus

1. Revision of the non-finite verbs which are used as attributive and adverbial.

2. A better understanding and use of the non-finite verbs which are used as attributive

and adverbial.

III. Teaching procedures

Step 1: Lead-in

Purpose: to lead in to the 3 forms of non-finite verbs

Task:

1) show students 3 pictures and introduce them some information about the 3 persons. 2) let students create sentences with “to succeed, one must

… believing in himself, one can…Inspired by their stories of success, we …”

Step 2: Revision of the Non-finite Verbs Purpose: to enable the students to have a better understanding and use of the

grammar

Task:1) let students read the passage ,find out the sentences that use to do,

doing, and think about the functions of these non-finite verbs (adverbial or attributive)

2) let students focus on some important points by analyzing the sentences and conclude some key grammar rules

Step 3: Consolidation

Purpose: 1).

to give the students more chances to practice using the grammar

2). to check whether the students master the points or not

Task : 1). let the students play a game which contains some exercises related

to non-finite verb.

(PS: There are different kinds of exercises with different points. Each group should choose one of them to finish. If they can give the correct answers, they will get points. Otherwise, the chances are given to other groups

2). let the students finish 10 exercises which are from previous College

Entrance Examination papers.

Step4. Assignment after class

Purpose:

to put what has been learned in this class into practice

Finish Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 on page 17 , Shiba. (The exercises I choose from

Shiba are related to non-finite verbs which are used as attributive and adverbial.)
