Teaching procedures: Step 1: Warm - up 1.
Greetings:
T: Stand up, please. Good morning, class. How are you?
Ss: Good morning, Miss Li. I’m fine, thank you. 2.
Revision: Free talk
Show a outing picture to students, and ask them to talk about the details of the picture.
(Note: This procedure will help students revise the words and sentences learned before. By the way, it can make a bedding for the new lesson. ) Eg:
S1: What’s this?
S2: This is ...
S3: What’s that?
S4: That is ...
Step 2: Presentation 1.
Part B: New words
(1) According to outing picture lead out the new word “outing”, and then explain the meaning and usage of this word.

Show a bird picture to students to lead out this word “bird”, and then show three birds to students to lead out plural sentences.

Ss: It’s a bird.
T: What are these?
Ss: These are birds. (Help students answer. By the way, mark suffix “s” with red
chalk.)
(3) flower, tree, egg
Show flower, tree and egg pictures to students.
T: What are these?
Ss: These are flowers/trees, eggs. (Help students to answer. By the way, mark suffix “s” with red chalk.)
(4) sheep, grass
Show sheep and grass pictures to students.
T: What are these?
Ss: These are sheep/grass. (Help students to answer. Then remark that sheep is countable noun, but its plural is the same as singular. Grass is an uncountable noun, so it has no plural.)
(5) Sentences: Write the new sentences on the blackboard
Eg: These are flowers.
These are birds.
These are sheep.
Those are birds.
Those are trees. (Explain the difference between these and those. And “these” is plural of “this”, and “those” is plural of “that”.)
(6) Practice the new words: Clap game
Divide students to four groups, then the teacher lead students read the words and at the same time have claps. When the teacher stop, the group who stop too will win score. (Note: This procedure can help students remember new words and help them correct the pronunciation. By the way, emphasize the pronunciation of “-s”. )

Part A: Listen and read
1) Read by themselves: Ask students read by themselves and know general meaning of this part.
2) Analysis:
(1) New words: beautiful, green, touch (2) New sentences: Don’t touch them. (3) Then content of Part A.
3) Speaking: Lead students to read this part. (Note: The pronunciation of “these”
and “those” is difficult key in this lesson. Help students to correct it.)
Step 3: Practice Part C: Let’s act Group work: First, ask students to choose the picture they like. Then, divide students into several groups, each group two students. Give them five minutes to make a new dialogue. The dialogue is same as the sentence in this part. Five minutes later, invite several groups to act out their dialogues. Example:
S1: What are those?
S2: Those are eggs.
Step 4. Homework 1.
Copy the new words two times. 2.
Read the dialogue we have learned today. 3.
Preview the knowledge about next lesson.

It’s a little difficulty for students to master the pronunciation of “these” and “those”. 2.
