Module 4 Unit 2 It’s a black dog.
Teaching aims: Knowledge: students can listen, understand, say and recognize words about color, like red, yellow, blue, green and black. Students can describe an item:color+thing. Eg. black dog. New words: cap, cat, dog. Ability: students can listen, understand and say different colors, students can describe an item with color+thing, or “it’s +color”. Moral education: encourage students to communicate with their friends about colors in daily life.
Teaching main points and difficult points Main points: words like red, green, yellow, blue, black, orange, purple, cap, cat,dog. It’s+color. It’s a +color+item. Difficult points: words: orange, purple, the usage of “a/an”. New sentence: it’s + a +color+item.
Teaching aids: CD, ppt, cards of colors, two boxes.
Teaching plan: 1. Warm-up T: what color do I have? Sis: black, red....
2. Lead-in (ppt) T: find a key word in four pictures. Ppt will present five colors which helps students review these words and teacher should put color cards on blackboard.
Show students a part of a picture, students say the color together. T: what’s the color? Ss: it’s red. Show the rest part of the picture, students guess what it is. S1: it’s a bird.
T: maybe.
S2: it’s a cat. T: follow me. It’s red.
S: it’s red. T: it’s a cat.
S: it’s a cat. T: it’s a red cat.
S: it’s a red cat.
3. Presentation
1.listen and say activity 1
Students watch cd and listen carefully for the first time.
Then students listen again and read after the video.
Thirdly, students practice conversations by groups. 2. Listen and say activity 2. Students watch cd and listen carfully for the first time. Then students read after the video. Teach new words “dog, cat, cap”
and put these words on the blackboard. Teach the difference between “cat”
and “cap”
by drawing a cat and a cap on th letter “t”
and “p”
respectively. Practice: boys read the left side sentences, and girls read the right sentences.
T: (point to pan pan) he is a magician and he can play magic, now let’s see what magic he will play. (Let students see ppt and answer. Eg “now it’s a blue cap”.
4.practice Magic eyes (ppt) Helps students review words.
T: miss sun can play magic, pan pan can play magic, do you want to play magic? Invite several groups come to stage and be the magician, each group has a girl and a boy. Students say “mingle mingle change!”
Then these two students should pick up one card from the box of colors and box of things respectively, and other students should say what it is. For instance, a boy pick the word “red”, and a girl pick “apple”, then students should say “it’s a red apple”.
5.production Divide the class into eight teams, and each team has a leader. Hand out a picture to each team, and students have 5 minutes to discuss with their partners. When times up, students come to stage and show their performance.
6.homework. Read conversation on page 23 for 3 times.
