Ⅰ. Teaching aims:
High school curriculum reform aims to improve the scientific attainment of each student. According to English four-dimensional goals of high school ---language ability, cultural awareness, thinking quality and learning ability, I set the following teaching aims. 1. Improve the students’ ability of understanding the text and analyzing the content and help them to learn about archaeology and the life of the early people. 2. Arouse the students’ awareness of protecting Chinese culture and teach them to inherit Chinese culture through English oral exchange. 3. Inspire the students to solve problems through independent thinking and teamwork. 4. Train the students to use various methods to acquire information in English.
Ⅱ. Teaching important points: 1.
Instruct the students to talk about the early people and analyze the work division between men and women in primitive society and modern society. 2.
Lead the students to introduce and describe Chinese ancient objects. 3.
Train the students’ ability to cooperate with others. 4.
Cultivate the students’
positive emotions and appeal to them to promote traditional Chinese culture. Ⅲ. Teaching procedures: Step 1

By applying task-based teaching and situational teaching and adopting various vivid methods, I can hold the students’ interest and attention, obtaining unexpected results. In order to raise class efficiency and solve teaching difficulties in the lesson, I intersperse many forms, such as asking questions, analyzing characters, video viewing and mind mapping. In the process, many activities are involved, which greatly arouse the students’ enthusiasm and help them appreciate the wisdom of our ancestors. In speaking section, I lead the students to make a dialogue between a Chinese guide and a foreign visitor and introduce Chinese ancient objects. This practice promotes the students’
sense of national pride and arouses their awareness of inheriting Chinese traditional culture.
However, how to create an interesting and thoughtful class requires more exploration. I will carry out more teaching research and adopt more innovative teaching modes to ensure that students of different levels will taste the joy of English learning.
