教材分析

这篇文章选自人教版高中英语教材选修八第五单元阅读部分。

内容上，这篇文章以一群英国学生到周口店参观为主线，通过英国学生与带队参观的考古学家之间的对话与提问，把周口店原始人的生活原貌通过几个方面基本展现了出来。

语言上，整篇文章以对话形式展开，语言较口语化。

情感上，文章很好地把原始人虽然一无所有地在生活，但在现实中仍旧有对美强烈追求的渴望。而且，文章坚定地打破了人们固有观念中“原始人落后”的观念，向读者展示了其丰富的创造力和对生活的热情。此外，作者借由考古学家和英国学生间亲密热切的互动，一方面潜移默化地在传达考古学的乐趣，另一方面也在暗示中国有此方面志向的年轻人更多地加入到考古的行列中来。



学习者分析

学生来自镇海中学高一年级，大部分学生已经达到课标7级水平，词汇量已经达到3000左右。学生对该话题缺乏一定的熟悉度，再加上课文专业生词较多、文本内容较难，学生需要在老师的指导和梳理下，逐渐理解文本内容，体会文章情感。



教学目标

1、通过对文本的阅读，学生能领会描述有关考古学及其相关的词汇：archaeology,interrupt,acute,beasts,sharpen,ample等。

2、通过对文本的梳理，学生能知道原始人某些生活的境况，及其同现当代人生活方式的比对。

3、通过对写作风格的探究，学生能体会问答的基本表达及其固定架构。

4、通过对文本的理解，学生能对考古学及周口店遗址产生一定认知与了解。



1、懂得分析日常问答对话背后隐藏的人物情感与目的。

Ss: They’re quite uncivilized compared to us who live at present. T: That’s the words I constantly hear from the people around. But is it true? Are the primitive people really that stupid and savage as we think? Is there any possibility that this might be a stereotype?
