[课题(译林英语6年级下册

第八单元)]

[教材简解] 本单元话题是“我的梦想",旨在通过此话题讨论,引导学生树立正确的价值观,心怀梦想并为实现自己的梦想努力奋斗。

本单元的目标词汇都和职业相关,教师可以利用五年级上册Unit 5(What do they do?)复习相关词汇,设计教学活动,导入目标词汇。教师也可以拓展一些常见的职业词汇,以丰富教学内容。

[目标预设] 知识目标:

1. 能听懂、会读、会用单词:dentist, astronaut, dancer, football player, pia

nist等职业类单词。

2. 能听懂、理解、会读并初步运用句型:

-What do you want to be in the future? -I want to be a…I want to (d

o)…,掌握两种回答的用法和区别。

能力目标:

1.

能正确,流利地朗读课文,整体理解语篇。

2. 能灵活运用所学词汇和句型对他人的梦想进行询问和描述。

情感目标:

1. 能理解每个职业的重要性,学会尊重每一个梦想并努力实现自己的梦想。

[重点、难点] 教学重点:

1.单词dentist, astronaut, pianist的读音和重读;

2.能正确掌握重点句型:-What do you want to be in the future?

-I want to be a…I want to (do)…

随着单词渗透的完成和主题“our dreams”的引出,“what do you want to be in the

future”这样的简单问答已水到渠成。通过孩子们的回答自然过渡到文章中六个学生的

“dreams”. 在接下来的课本教学中,设计者分成了两部分。第一部分boys’

dreams设计教学环节较丰富,其意图就是为第二部分girls’

dreams的学生自学打下基础。但是不管设计者的环节是如何,其中心设计意图都是“让学”,把时间让给学生说英语,比如reading time, talk about the students’

dreams in group of four。这边也体现了“小组合作学习”的教学理念。

[教学过程]

Step1

Warm-up

1. Play a game: Word puzzles

Enjoy a song about jobs at the beginning of class. And ask students what is this song about? Try to elicit ‘job’ from the class.

Then invite students to play a game: Word puzzles. Following words about jobs are presented on ppt.

Eg. come run key

Eg. Let’s guess the word. (Hints) It’s one word about a job. The word begins with a ‘w’. The second

letter is from come. The third letter is from run. The next letter

is from key. What is it? Try to elicit an answer ‘It’s worker.’

1) bus

care

she

Let’s guess another word. It’s also about a job. It’s begin with a ‘n’. The second letter is from bus. The next letter is from care. The last two letters are from she. What is this word? Try to get students give an answer ‘It’s nurse.’

2) world

give

girl

Let’s guess another one word. It is begin with a ‘d’. The second letter is from world. The next three letters are from give. The last letter is from girl. What is it? Getstudents to answer ‘It’s driver.’

2. Brilliant. All these words are about jobs.

And ask students ‘Do you know what

is my job?’ to elicit the answer ‘teacher’. Then teacher makes one sentence ‘When

I was a little girl, my dream was to be a teacher.’

Teach: dream (‘dr’-dress ‘eam’-cream) my dream

Now my dream has come true.

(Here Teacher could present some pictures of occupation they’ve learned before on

ppt.)

Review words: cook, nurse, policeman/policewoman, doctor

Ok. Let’s read these words

together. Review: teacher, farmer, driver, worker

(Here Teacher could get students to give the verb form of these words) T: Pay attention to these words. We add ‘r’

or ‘er’

to verbs, then it becomes a noun. Eg. waiter - wait. Let’s try to say these verbs together.

teacher—teach

farmer—farm

worker—work

driver—drive

Step3

Presentation

1. Let’s try to tell the verb form of these words below by using this rule.

Eg. sing, dance, write, play

1)

T: Yeah, very good. Give ‘write’ as an example to ask students to give the noun form ‘writer’.

Write--writer

What is a writer? Could you give me some names of Chinese writers?

Teacher raises another question ‘What does a writer usually do?’ To elicit the answer ‘They write stories for us’.

from students.

2) What’s the noun form of dance?

dance--dancer

his songs?

play—player

Do you know what is a player?
