【教材及学情分析】

本课是新世纪英语五年级第三单元的内容,主题是“Happy Days”,根据学生的学情和教学需要,对本单元的内容进行了整合。第一教时,以Children’s Day为主题,通过创设语境进行重点词汇guest,

Children’s Day

Last Sunday was Children’s Day. I had a party at my home.Many guests came to my home. They arrived at my house at nine o’clock. My uncle gave me a parcel. I was very happy. After lunch my cousins and I watched cartoons. I have got a lot of cartoon discs on my CD-rack. After that we went to the garden. We walked around a big tree and blew bubbles. We stopped playing when dinner was ready. We had a big meal. We all had a good time. Period 2

A Happy Week Dialogue 1: Mingming: Good morning, Norman.

Norman: Morning,Mingming. Mingming:How was your weekend? Norman: It was great. Mingming: What did you do? Norman: We visited the Shanghai Expo. It was super. What did you do last weekend? Mingming: I went to Hangzhou with my parents. It was a nice trip. Dialogue 2: George and Jim are playing a game --”Who broke a glass yesterday afternoon?”George can ask Jim only three questions.

George: What did Mary do yesterday afternoon? Jim :

She went to a park yesterday afternoon. George: What did Alice do yesterday afternoon? Jim :

She played the violin yesterday afternoon. George: What did Sandy do yesterday afternoon? Jim :

He learned to cook from his mother yesterday afternoon. George: I see, it was Sandy. He broke the glass. Jim :

Haha, he didn’t. It was Mary. She came back home and drank some water from a

Jenny’s birthday

Yesterday was Jenny’s birthday. She had a party at home in the afternoon. All her friends were there. At about 5 pm, another two guests arrived at her house.

They were Jenny’s grandparents. They gave Jenny a parcel. There was a CD rack in it. Now Jenny could put all her discs in the rack.

What did the children do at the party? They sang the“ Happy

Birthday” song to Jenny, and Jenny blew out the candles on her birthday cake.

Then The children played the game of Musical Chairs. When the music started, they ran around the chairs. When the music stopped, everyone had to find a chair to sit on. Oh, there was no chair for Mingming. He was out of the game. They all had a great time!
