Analysis of text（教材分析）: This module is a reading text in the form of dialogue. It introduces the location, climate and some general city information of Xiamen, including buildings, business district and tourist attraction. By the study of this text, students are supposed to know more about Xiamen and master the skills to introduce a city. Furthermore, they are expected to enhance their knowledge about the city where they live. It’s good to strengthen students’ love to their hometown and our country. II.

Analysis of students（学情分析）: As all of them are the Grade 1 students, the reading skills including skimming, scanning, finding key words are not so experienced. So, in this reading text, the teacher will continually enhance the practice of reading skills. Since this reading text is in the form of dialogue of two people and the content is much relevant to life, it will be much easier to stimulate students’ motivation by carrying out different activities. III.

Teaching objectives（教学目标）: 1.Students are able to improve their reading skills

2. Students are able to grasp the writing skills (how to describe a place). 3. Students are able to know more about Xiamen, and help improve their sense of pride to their hometown and love their hometown. IV.

1. To master the basic knowledge in this lesson and use them freely. 2. To help students master the main idea of this passage and improve their reading skills. 3. To master the writing skills of how to introduce a place. V.
