Part C Story time

Design Concept：

This design concept will connect multimedia application with English class. The students of grade 5 are about eleven years old.

They are easy to be attracted by some new things. So teacher creates a shop with our old friends: Zoom and Zip, they go into a shop and want to buy something, a true situation. Students can understand the story by themselves with the help of pictures and videos, and they can read、retell and act out this story. Teacher will use task-based teaching approach to insure the students get language input. Meanwhile, they can output the language and form a habit of self-exploration. Effective teaching strategy can greatly mobilized the enthusiasm of students.

Teaching Aims：

1、Language Knowledge

a、Students can understand the whole story.

b、Students can know how to express their demands and ask something’s price.

2、Language Skills a、Students can listen and understand the story with illustrations. b、Students can find the answers after they watch the illustrating pictures. c、Students will be able to read and retell the story. d、Students can act out the story even create a new one.

3、Affective Attitude a、

Students can experience the fun of learning English story. b、Students will take an active part in all kinds of classroom activities. 4、Learning Strategies a、Students will be able to listen intently and have positive thinking. b、Students will cooperate with others actively and mutually.

Important Points：

Read the story and understand the main idea, grasp the key knowledge.

Difficult Points：

Act out and retell this story, even create a new one.

Situational Language Teaching, Cooperation teaching.

PPT, word cards, stationery pictures, cartoon headwear.

Step 1: Warm-up 1、Greetings

T：Say hello to all the students.

2、T: Divide students into groups, each group have four members and introduce the assessment. (If they can answer my question loud and with confidence, they can get award fund).

Ss: Listen to the details about the competition. [设计意图:将小组合作和竞赛机制引入课堂，增强学生的学习积极性和认真性。]

时间：1 min 3、Lead in T:a、Show the title at PPT and stick on the blackboard. b、Ask all the students : What’s this? (Point to the shop picture and ask). c、Introduce Zoom and Zip will go into a shop and buy something today. d、Use flash cards to help students review the words.

the main story illustration and ask: What do you see? b、Stick the key pictures on the blackboard. Ss: Answer questions and try to read illustration. [设计意图:

通过“你可以看到什么？”这样的问题来帮助学生初步了解故事配

watch the story book and finish the table. T:a、Play the record . b、Let all the students watch their paper and finish the table.

通过听课文录音和看课本上的故事来帮助学生更好的全面理解课文，并抓住一些细节。]

c、Show the week’s cards and subject’s cards, place the right location.

通过带有动画的故事来帮助学生再次全面理解课文，并通过板书，提示学生抓住故事的关键细节。]

通过带着语气和语调的师生跟读，锻炼学生对故事的认读能力，培养良好的语音语调。并尝试提炼故事的主线。] 时间：2 min 5、Ask some questions to help students to know the words mean.

通过录音跟读的方式强化学生的语音语调和语气。]

T: All the boys are Zoom and all the girls are Zip. Try to read this story. Ss: Read this story with different role. [设计意图:

通过男女生合作完成课文朗读，培养学生的合作意识。]

时间：2 min 3、Pair work

T:a、Show the role play demand at the PPT.

b、Give them two minutes to make this story with pairs.

Ss: Read and act the whole story with pairs. [设计意图:

通过两人小组分角色朗读的形式帮助学生自身内化故事内容。]

时间：3 min 4、Dub for this story

T: Play the flash and demand all the students try to dub for this story.

Ss: Try to dub for the story with emotion and body language. [设计意图:

通过为故事配音的形式帮助学生将朗读感情、语音语调、肢体语言相互结合。]

时间：3 min Step 4: Production 1、Retell the story T: Use the key words and pictures to help students conclude the story.

Ss: Retell this story by themselves or with teacher’s help.

学生通过复述故事梳理故事中的主要线索，进一步加深印象，为之后的活动做铺垫。]

通过四个选项，进行本课的呈现，分层的选择可以帮助学生选择适合的方式来向大家展示自己本课所学。]

对小组竞赛进行评价,学生可以利用奖励金购买文具。延续和提升学生英语学习兴趣。并根据学生学情布置分层作业，满足各个层次的学生需求。]
