（一）课堂导入

T: Today we’ll read a passage “My first ride on a train”.Do you understand the meaning of the title.

Ss“ride”means “travel”. T: Before we start our topic.Let’s enjoy some pictures.(show pictures of kangaroo,koala bears and platypus). Where do the animals come from?

Ss: Australia T: In today’s class, I’ll take everyone to this beautiful country. （二）课堂讲授

(Show a piece of video about Australia and ask students to pay attention to the things they see in the video

T: Which one have you seen? Ss: Sydney Opera House T: I’ll ask you more questions and see how much you know about this country. T: What’s the national flag of Australia?

T: Do you know the name of the capital city? not Sydney. Sydney is the biggest country in Australia. T: Where do you think most of the people live, in the central part of the country or on the coast?

S: On the east/southeast coast. Because the central part of the country is desert. T: Do you know how many people live there?
