2019.6.12 Learning Objectives By the end of the class, the students will be able to: 1. get a better understanding of the whole play, including the main characters, personalities and how the story goes through skimming, scanning and critical thinking ; 2. appreciate the rhetorical beauty of literary language by comprehending its meaning; 3. predict the ending of the main characters by analyzing their personalities and present it in spoken language after discussion.

Key points & Difficult Points 1.Enable students to infer the personalities of the main characters;

2. Enable students to write an ending of the play.

Teaching methods:

Teaching Procedures Step One: Greeting & Lead-in (3 minutes) A student does his duty report to introduce William Shakespeare and something about King Lear.

Step Two: Reading for characters (Lines1-3) （2 minutes）
