Module 5--Unit 1 Can you run fast?

The language knowedge aims:

1)Function:Learn to talk about one's ability with ''Can"

2)Grammer: Can listen,read and say and use:run fast、

jump high、

jump far and ride fast and use the function sentenses "Can you…?Yes, I can. No, I can’t."

3)vocabulary:The four-skilled words:can,run,fast,high,winner.

4)Grasp the prouncations:sky,high,winner...

The language skill aims;

1)Listen:All Ss can read "Can you…?Yes, I can. No, I can’t."

2) Say: All Ss can say"Can you…?Yes, I can. No, I can’t."

3)Read:the words and the text.

4)Write:the four-skilled words and sentenses. Teaching important and difficult

points:Can ...Can you...?Yes,I can.No,I can't.

Emotional aims:Encourage Ss to help each other and love to learn English.

Step 1:Warm up and lead in:

1.Greetings.

2. Free talk and lead in:

a:Look at this kite(PPT), what can it do?Can it fly in the sky?Learn "can,sky"by looking at the card.

b: (Play the PPt)T:It can fly so fast and so high.make the Ss understand the words"fast,high"and learn them.

T: Kites can fly,birds can fly ,too. Now let's watch the CD-ROM and then follow to read Activity 1.(teacher

writes new words on the board.)

c:Birds and kites can fly,people can do many sports,too.watch ppts,say the sports on the ppts quickly .

Step 2: Task presentation:Sam,Amy and their friends can do some sports too ,who can do well?Now let's learn

Module 5---Unit 1.

Step 3: Text learning:

1)Read the text silently then , find ,underline and learn the sports:run fast,jump high,jump fast,ride fast.Learn the functional sentenses:Can you...?Yes,I can. No,I can't.(by watching the ppts)

2)Show questions and listen,watch the CD--Rom,then discuss in groups and answer them.

Q1: Can you run fast,Sam?

Q2:Can you jump high,Daming?

Q3: Who can ride fast?

Watch the ppts and learn''winner,afraid".

3) Listen and read the text,then do it in rolers .

Step 4:Practise

1) Play a game: Bomb game.Practise the important keys.

2) Group work:Guessing game:Guess the sports ,find the winners.

Step 5:Task Completion:

Group work:Make a survy,eg: Sam,Can you...?Yes,I can./No,I can't.then report in groups.

Step 6:Summary and homework:

1.Summary:Today we ...

2.Homework:Write the new words and sentenses. Make a survey and write:what can your mother ,father

sister or brother do.
