2. Talk about subjects, lessons and schedules using the following sentences.

(1) — What do you think of music?

— It's relaxing.

(2) — When is the class?

— It's on Monday.

(3)— When does David have Chinese?

— He has Chinese on Monday.

Step 1: Revision and warm-up

1.Quick eyes:What subject can you see?Show Ss some pictures of subjects,ask students to say the names of different subjects.

2.Give students an example.

A: What's your favorite subject?

B: My favorite subject is music.

A: Why do you like music?.

B: Because it is relaxing.

A: Who's your music teacher?

B: Mr. Xie.

3. Invite some pairs to act out their conversations.

Step 2: Presentation

1.Music Time:Sing along with the song and learn the days of a week and some more description words.

2.Ask students to match the words on the left with their opposites on the right in 1a. Then check the correct answers to the whole class.

3.Present other days in a week. Show a picture of school calendar. And present the using of "on + 星期几",

T: When do you have music?

Ss: I have music on Monday. 4.Ask Ss to work in pairs to practice some similar conversations.

Step 3: Listening Practice 1.Listening for the main idea T:Let’s listen to the tape and try to get the main idea of the conversation (It’s talking about David’s favorite subject.)

2.Listening for details

1b (1) Ask students to read the words in 1a again and tell them to check(√) the words they hear while listening.

(2) Invite one student to read his\her answers.

(3) Check the correct answers with the whole class.

1c (1) Lead students to read the schedule.

(2) Ask students to listen again and circle the classes David talks about on the schedules.

(3) Play the recording for a third time and check the answers.

Step 4:Post-listening Activities

1. Ask students to read the conversations about David’s favorite subject in 1d and ask students to fill in the blanks.

2. Ask students to work in pairs and talk about their favorite subject. Give students an example.

A: What's your favorite subject?

B: Chinese.

A: Why do you like Chinese?

B: Because it's interesting.

A: When do you have the class?

B: I have it on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

3. Invite several pairs to act out their conversations.

Step 5:Following up

Make a survey:Ask Ss to work in groups of four and make up conversations to finish the chart.Then give a report.
