2. present their comprehension about the story.

3. talk about what we have learnt after reading the story.

Teaching emphasis and difficulties: 1. To clearly present what kinds of strange things happened in Alice’s dream. 2. To cultivate the students’ critical thinking and logical reasoning

Teaching procedures: Step 1 Lead-in

Show the front cover of the book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and ask the students:

What can you get from the name?

Do you know who wrote it?

Do you know the main characters in the story? 2.

Ask students to read the introduction to get the main plots of the story.

Step 2 Comprehension

Scene One: Alice found a rabbit.

Ask the students to read Page 13 and complete the table Where

Ask the students to describe the looks of the white rabbit. Thinking: If you are Alice, how will you feel when you see such a rabbit? 3.

Encourage students to describe the actions of Alice by putting the actions in order.

Scene Two: Alice waas in a hole.

Do you like Alice? Why or why not?

Rewrite the story of Alice.

Discuss: What will happen if Alice eats the cake? Try to write a story.

Step 4 Homework 1. Retell the story to your parents.
