Show some pictures about College Entrance Examination and ask students to have a talk and pay attention to the two sentences:

1.To see is to believe. 2.I noticed some students wear such T-shirts to wish to have good luck

in the exam. T: Do you notice that there are infinitives in these two sentences? Show students some famous English sayings and ask them to translate them into Chinese sayings. Design purpose: Lead to the topic and and increase students’ interest in the grammar. Step 2

Teaching aims and instructions Show the aims on the screen and tell students k how they can learn the knowledge well. Design purpose:Enable students to know what they should master in this class. Step 3 Explanation

Show some information about Infinitive and explain some key points to the students.( Definition, Forms, Function,etc.) Design purpose:

Enable students to get the basic knowledge about the grammar. Step 4 Practice

Hand out the paper with 8 exercises in it and ask students to finish them within 3 minutes.

Ask some students to present their answers and give their reasons.

Show the correct answers on the screen and give students some learning tips. Design purpose: Enable students to break through the difficult points in studying Infinitive.

Step 5 Writing

Hand out another paper where there are 4 sentences for students to translate.They have 5 minutes to do it and few minutes to discuss the sentences in groups. After the work, some students are asked to present their answers on the blackboard. Invite some other students to make some comments on the sentences and correct some mistakes. Design purpose: Improve students’ ability of writing. Step 6 Improving study Put the 4 sentences above together and show them on the screen. Then ask students to add some transitional words to form a mini writing to comfort the students who made mistakes in the exam.(3 minutes) Invite some students to present their ideas orally. Design purpose: Improve students’ ability of organizing a passage. Step 7 Summary

Summarize what has been learned in this class and give the students some tips in doing the exercises about Infinitive. Design purpose:Emphasize the key points and improve their memory. Step 8 Evaluation The English monitor makes some comments on the students’ work in this class. Design purpose:Encourage students to show themselves actively in class next time. Step 9 Homework 1.Polish your sentences after class. 2.Remember the key points about infinitives. 3.Write a short passage about how to reduce haze.
