教学目标：

句型：I would like to recommend Daniel for this year’s Young Star Award.

（1）通过阅读吴老师的推荐信，使学生掌握写推荐信的基本结构。

（2）培养学生在写作前草拟提纲，做到条理清晰。

情感目标：通过本节课学习培养学生乐于助人的好品质。

教学重难点：

重点：掌握四会词汇、词组、句型。

难点：掌握写推荐信的基本结构。

教学准备：有关Daniel乐于助人的图片、多媒体课件、配套光盘等。

教学方法：思维导图教学法、情景教学法

教学过程：

Step1: Revision 1.T: We know that Daniel is a member of the Helping Hands Club. He does many things for the club. Do you remember what he does to help others?

S: Look at the pictures and review some activities( raise money and collect things for Project Hope. 2.Lead in

S: He is kind, helpful and clever.

Step2 :Presentation 1.Show the picture of Daniel. T: Daniel is kind and helpful, so Mr Wu want to recommend him for this year’s Yong Star Award.

Step3 :Reading

1.T: Read Mr Wu’s letter and find out the main idea of paragraph 2\3\4

Paragraph2: Daniel is a clever boy.

Paragraph4: Daniel is really kind. 2. Skim for the main idea of each paragraph. T: Please look at Paragraph 2\3\4, Ask why does Mr Wu think Daniel is clever\thinks carefully\kind? 3.Retell the letter. Let the students read the message and retell the letter from paragraph 1to paragraph 5. 【设计意图】通过快速阅读了解推荐信的各段大意，细读了解Daniel的能力、个性及他做的好事，利用思维导图进行教学，层层递增，激发学生学习兴趣，突出重点、难点。

Step4:Summary T: How to write a recommendation letter? Introduction

The first paragraph tells what the letter is about. Main body The main body of the letter includes different points in this order. The paragraph 2: abilities of your classmate The paragraph 3: personality of your classmate The paragraph 4: what your classmate did Conclusion

The last paragraph states again who you would like to recommend. 【设计意图】通过复习写推荐信的基本结构，让学生进一步了解写推荐信的提纲从介绍、正文到总结，写推荐信做到条理清晰。

Step5: Homework Write a recommendation letter. 假如你是班长，请向班主任推荐你们班某同学获班级最优秀学生

(Best Student)奖。
