Teaching aims:

1. Get some information from listening materials. 2. Listen to the instructions and draw the route on te map.

3. Talk about how to get to a specific location.

4. Master the important language points. Teaching materials: 1. Words：past, treasure, traffic, should, corner, turning, crossing；

2. Phrases：walk past the house, an English corner at Sunny Garden,

at the traffic lights, at the corner of the street;

3. Sentences：Take the second turning on the right;

Step 1. Lead in Show some traffic signs and ask the students to get to know the signs. 1. Today we’ll learn Unit 4 Finding your way, Integrated skills. In this period, Mr Wu and his students will go on a treasure hunt. Would you like to join them? OK, let’s go. In the game, we have 4 tasks. If you finish the 4 tasks successfully, you’ll find the treasure. Are you ready? Go! 2. Task One: Knowledge about the signs.

Step 2. Practice 1. Play a game called “Follow my instructions to find your way”.

You know a lot about signs and instructions. Now let’s play a game called “Follow my instructions to find your way”

Suppose this is the Teacher’s Street, and that is the Students’ Street. And this road is XX Road…. You will ask a student from other group to find his way according to your instructions.

Let me set an example for you. (Ask a student to come to my place: Walk down the Teacher’s Road and take the second turning on your left, walk straight on for five minutes, and you’ll find XX’s home on your right.)

We’ll have a competition. We have 3 groups here. If you give out the directions clearly, you will win a star for your group. If you find your way correctly, you will also win a star for your group.

(5) Let’s describe the route together. Step 4. Practice 1. Ask the students to complete the short passage on the screen. I’ll give you 1minute to prepare for it. You can read it aloud.

4. Tell the students “All roads lead to Rome”.
