一）导入新课

Warming-up and revision 1．Play the“Good morning! How are you？” song before the class begins. 2．Greet the students. 3. Do a game. 二）探究新知

Work on 4a & 4b 1．T：Now open your books and turn to page S4.Write down the children’s names below their faces. 2．T：Write the names in the alphabetical order in the list.

3．Check their answers. 4．Play the recording two times. First,listen. Next, repeat. 5．Ask some students to read the letters and words. ( 告诉学生们这是有关元音字母a和字母e在单词中读音规则的总结，同学们认真听，看能否听清左右两个方框中发音的不同。让学生们说出字母a与e在单词中的两种发音，看学生们是否听清。然后教给学生们字母a与e在单词中的两种发音。) 4a Answers：

Top row：Cindy，Bob，Helen，Eric Bottom row：Dale，Frank，Alice，Grace Name list：Alice，Bob，Cindy，Dale，Eric，Frank，Grace，Helen Work on 4c & 4d 1．Ask students to read aloud the words on the left.Make sure they know the distinction between two different pronunciations of the same letter. 2．Ask students to try to read the new words on the right.Teacher moves around the classroom and helps students if necessary. 3．Play the song for the students to listen. 4．Students listen and sing the song after the recording，then students sing the song together.
