Module 4 Unit 2 Project

Teaching objectives: By the end of the class, students will be able to 1. grasp the three requirements for sports events to enter the Olympics. 2. write brief suggestions based on the requirements in Passage One. 3. do an extensive writing about spirits of sports related to Passage Two.

Teaching methodology: Task-based approach; student-centered teaching approach; cognitive approach; communicative approach, etc.

Teaching procedures: Passage One Ⅰ

Fast reading Ask students three questions about text. ⅡDetailed reading (1) 1. Help students deal with basic content in the text. 2. Guide students to sum up the significant information of the text. 3. Ask students to write a passage based on the information of the text. 4. Evaluate students’ writing.

Passage Two Ⅲ

Detailed reading (II) 1. Ask students to go through the text. 2. Help students understand the information further. 3. Guide students to explore the essence of the article. 4. Ask students to do an extensive writing based on the text.

Ⅳ

Homework 1. Read the text aloud. 2. Finish the writing and polish it. 3. Review what has been learnt today.
