1. Introduction to the scientific experiment. 2. Tell students that after learning Module 5, they are supposed to write a report on a simple scientific experiment. 3. Students could understand and master some related words & knowledge about science as well as science subjects, and then get a basic understanding about the theme of this module --- general science. Introduction, p41 Tell students to listen carefully and try to grasp as much information as possible.

The activity is aimed at enlarging the vocabulary relating to the Writing. 对本模块主题初步了解，明确本模块任务。

以真实的任务展开教学，使学生明确学习目的，提高学习自觉性，激发学生的学习兴趣，让学生在任务的驱动下更有目的地学习。

Numbers are frequently seen and heard in English, especially in listening tests. Ask Ss to find out the mistakes in item one, p42 Ask Ss to speak out the correct number forms, including fractions and decimals. Activity: Ask Ss to listen to his/her partner carefully, and try to get the correct number that he/she says.

1. Do Grammar Exx.1 & 2, P91 in the workbook. 2. Pair work.. Choose one conversation topic（from a scientific experiment Ss have done before）and prepare a dialogue using comparison. 3. Surf the Internet for information about scientific experiment to prepare for your report.

完成课后练习和信息搜索任务。

课后练习巩固所学，培养资源策略，从网上或其它相关资料查找所需资料的能力。
