A Lively City 教学设计

一、教学目标

1) 通过设计不同的阅读题目，让学生去完成相应的任务，培养其阅读技能，

学会从课文中快速定位，获取描述社区的主要信息。

2）能够理解文章的细节和结构，学会城市介绍的结构和相关表达。

二、教学流程

Teaching Steps: Step 1. Lead--in 【T】 Play the game of city guessing .Give a brief description of the city Xiamen by showing pictures on PPT at the same time. 【S】 Listen carefully and try to guess the city the teacher is describing.

【设计说明】设计一个猜测城市的小游戏可以调动学生的兴趣。另外，图片能够为学生提供比较直观的信息，内容涉及城市风貌，公园，艺术，教育，地理位置等让学生对厦门城市有生动形象的了解，辅助学生完成接下来的各项阅读任务。

Step 2. Fast reading 【T】Assign fast reading tasks and get students to work on the following two.About two minutes later check their answers. 1.What are they doing? 2.Circle the aspects mentioned in the text. location climate history people traffic environment scenery spots 【S】Look through the dialogue quickly and try to finish the task by themselves.

【设计说明】这是阅读的第一步，学生通过快速浏览、默读短文完成两项任务————理解文章大意，找出涉及城市介绍的几个要素。

Step 3 . Listening to identify the visiting route 【T】Show students a map.Get them to listen to the tape recording first and identify John’s visiting route in Xiamen at the same time. 【S】Listen carefully and work on their task.

【设计说明】本篇文章是对话形式，不像一般短文那样脉络清晰容易把握。老师充分利用有效资源，播放录音材料，让学生结合导览地图边看边听，在锻炼听力的过程中培养学生捕捉关键信息的能力。听完后，老师引导学生分析讨论参观路线，落实听的效果和对短文的掌握程度。

Step 4. Extensive reading 【T】Show students the chart guiding them to collect the main information from the passage. 【S】Students read the passage once again and try to find out all the relative information.

【设计说明】学生在经过快速阅读和听录音之后，对文章的结构已经非常清楚。老师再将全文稍作归拢，以清晰的表格形式把阅读任务呈现给学生。让他们带着问题去精读文章，找出城市介绍的步骤、要素以及相关的表达方式，核对信息之后，再让学生反复朗读并尝试复述，巩固知识强化印象。

Step 5. Summary 【T】Get students to fill in the blanks .After that, prepare them for retelling. 【S】Students write down their answers on the paper.After checking the answers they are required to learn it by heart.

【设计说明】本节阅读课的主要目的就是让学生充分使用各种阅读技能，获取信息，并学以致用。所以，这一步骤的设计既要学生动脑思考又要动笔做答，综合检验课堂学习的效果，随后的背诵也会起到巩固表达、强化印象的作用。

Step 6. Discussion

【T】Organize a short discussion allowing them to briefly talk about how to describe places. 【S】Work in pairs and talk about it and then share their results.

【设计说明】作为本堂课的一个小结，这一步骤的设计，主要是引导学生简要地归纳描写城市的短文结构，在讨论过程中，学生交流回顾本堂所学知识，也为下一节课的写作学习稍作铺垫。

Step 7. Homework

【T】Assign homework and then show pictures about Gulangyu Island to help students finish their task.

【设计说明】本着学以致用的目的让学生写一篇短文，回应好友Jack的咨询，写一封推荐旅游城市的信。最后附加图片展示让学生了解鼓浪屿的特色，也是作为对厦门城市介绍的一个补充。
