一、教学目标
(一)单元教学目标
1.语用任务目标
能在上海发生变化的语境中,通过观看介绍上海变化的video,以及对未来上海变化的畅想,让学生在学学练练中油然而生地对上海产生喜爱以及自豪感。要求内容达意、语法正确、表达基本流畅。
2.语言学习目标
(1)能运用本单元核心词汇cupboard, shelf, mirror, lamp, cushion, sofa, furniture 进行描述并正确书写。
(2)在Changes in Shanghai in the future的交流和表达中综合运用....was/were.... 3.体验目标
通过讨论,畅想,规划更加美丽;更加和谐的上海,使学生明白:创建美好城市,人人有责。
4.学习策略
在课堂交流中,体验情境,积极与他人合作,共同完成学习任务。

二、教学文本
Period1:Changes in the room Ben: How to make changes? What can we do? Mum:Dad always bumps against(撞上)the shelf when he stands up from the sofa.
Kitty: Because the shelf is just above the sofa. And Dad is too tall. Mum:Not only the shelf, but also the table. He always kick it. Ben: Because it’s in the middle of the living room.
Mum:What can we do to help Dad, Children?
Period2:Changes in the life Kitty’s mum moved the furniture in the living room. The sofa was next to the wall. Now it is under the window. The mirror was behind the chair.Now it is next to the shelf. The clock was on the shelf. Now it is on the small table.
Period3:Changes in Shanghai
Many years ago, Shanghai was a small village. Not many people lived here. Many of them were fishermen and farmers. Later,people from other places came to Shanghai and it became a town. Today,Shanghai is a big city.There are a lot of tall buildings.Many people live

here.Some of them are from other countries. The Shanghai History Museum tells the story of Shanghai.In the Museum,you can see old houses,old boats and many other old things.There are also a lot of photos of old Shanghai.
Period4:Changes in Shanghai in the future Shanghai is in the east of China. Many years ago, it was a small fishing village. And Huangpu River was dirty. Only a few thousand people lived there. People were fishermen. There were still no big bridges or wide(宽阔的) roads. People used to(曾经) live in small rooms in narrow(拥挤的) streets. But today Shanghai is a big modern city. It is the biggest city in China. And it is also one of the largest cities in the world. In the future, there will be more big bridges, wide roads and high buildings everywhere. People will live in new and big flats . Shanghai will also be more beautiful than before. It is developing(发展) very fast. People are living a happy life.
