一．学生分析

本课的教学对象是高中二年级的学生,他们已具有一定的英语语言学习基础和听说读写能力。但因地处山区,软硬条件相对滞后,大部分学生英语基础较差,认为英语难学，

学习的主动性和积极性不高。

教材分析

本课是人教课标版选修8第三单元的一节口语课。本单元的语言技能和语言知识都是围绕“发明”这一中心话题设计的。本节课的教学内容是来自课文第19页的Warming up 部分以及围绕本单元话题拓展的相关知识。

三．教学目标

1.让学生了解中外著名的发明家及其发明,并弄清楚“发现”与“发明”之间的不同之处。

2.注重培养学生的口语能力，尤其是描述发明的能力。

3.激发学生对发明与创造的兴趣，挖掘与培养学生的创造想象力以及团队合作精神。

四．教学策略

借助多媒体教学，使教学生动活泼，在激发学生学习兴趣的同时，有效地提高教学效果。以竞猜游戏贯穿整节课，为学生营造轻松愉快的教学情景，以降低学生在口语表达中容易产生的焦虑情绪。

激发学生的学习兴趣，突出学生的主体地位并注重师生交流。

I. Leading-in: Lead in today’s topic by talking about some latest inventions and list some inventions in daily life.

II. Competition (A) Guess out the inventions according to their descriptions. The students will earn their scores by guessing out the objects.

III. Competition (B)

Student A describes the invention as well as possible

according to some sentence structures and student B guess out the invention as quickly as he/she can. Here are some sentence structures:

VI. Quiz

How much do you know about the famous inventors (their inventions) and great scientists (their theories) both in and out of China?

Exercise:

Match column A with column B and then divide the things in column B into discoveries and inventions.

V. Figure out the differences between a discovery and an invention，and then learn more inventions and discoveries on P19.
