Step I Lead-in

If you had a chance to go back to the primitive society, are you willing to accept it? Step II Skimming Task1: The students are asked to find the answers to the following questions. 1.

What is the main idea of the passage? (Help students master some skills to analyse and get the main idea of a passage) 2.

when/where/who /what? (Help students become familiar with the several major elements of a narrative ) Ask students to discuss the above questions in groups and then try to find the answers to the above questions.

Task2: Look through the passage and get the general idea of each paragraph, then match column A with column B. Step III Scanning Please decide whether the statements are true or false. 1. Lala’s family groups usually lived

together. 2. Dahu was good at making tools. 3. The family groups lived on hunting. 4. Dahu went out to sharpen the scrapers to kill an enemy.

2. In groups discuss what the possible work division was between men and women at that time.

After a few minutes, check the answers.
