Step 1 Lead in by brainstorming

Q: How do we know what is happening around us or even abroad? 设计意图：通过头脑风暴的方式让学生回忆之前学过的有关新闻媒介的词汇。

Step 2 Present some pictures on the screen Present some pictures of different media to the students, eg. Newspaper, magazine, television, radio, computer, mobile phone, etc.

Step 3 A free talk 1.

Ask the students to think about the following question What types of jobs do people do in making a newspaper? 设计意图：通过图片的导入让学生更直观地了解到新闻制作的过程。

Explanation of word-formation in this part Give me one verb to tell us what

设计意图：构词法的简单讲解，帮助学生更好地掌握相关单词。

Step 4 Word study

Divide the students into several groups and ask them to discuss the above passage and then ask some of them to present their answers on the blackboard.

设计意图：将学生要学习的单词，结合学生的实际，编成了一篇短文，让单词的学习不脱离文本，放在语篇中回归单词本身的意义。

Step 5 Leaning about expressions 补全短语

设计意图：单独把词组拎出来，组合学习，并注重词组中的介词搭配，降低了学习的难度，同时也更有利于学生的掌握。

Step 6 Guessing game

Present some sentences on the screen. Each of them has a corresponding picture. The students are asked to compete with each other to guess the meaning of each word.
