Teaching aims:

1.Be able to understand the story with the help of teacher and pictures. 2. Be able to use the sentences patterns: Can you do...? Yes,I can./No,I can't. Teaching key points and difficulties: 1.Be able to understand the story with the help of teacher and pictures. 2. Be able to use the sentences patterns: Can you do...? Yes,I can./No,I can't. 3.Be able to understand the new words and phrases: lake,hungry,do things,throw...into,run away,silly，wait a minute. Teaching aids :PPT,CD,headgears.

Teaching procedure: Step 1:Warm up ,greetings and free talk. T:What day is today? What's the weather like today? Step 2:Revision

According to the topic of Thanksgiving Day,and lead in the sentence “What can you do for your parents ?”

Review the key words and sentences of Unit 4. T:Do you know thanksgiving day is coming？

We should have a thankful heart. And we must thank many people,especially our parents. What can you do for your parents? S:I can sweep the floor./I can... T:Let me see" What else can you do?" First you can see some of my friends ,let's see what

they can do. Step3:Presentation (1)Show some pictures of athletes ,then learn the word “run , swim ,sing, dance”

T:Who is he ? S:He is Sun Yang. T:What can he do ? S:He can swim. (2)Learn the other words with the same way. (3)Group work : A: Can you run/ swim / sing / dance ? B:Yes, I can ./ No, I can’t.

(4)Present the story. ①Guessing game : The teacher describe the features and the students guess what it is . frog---He is green and has two big eyes.He can jump. snake--He is very long and his body is soft. ②Ask a question：

T: What will happen when the frog meets the sn-ake ? S:The snake eats the frog…

(5) Listen to the story and scanning. ①Play the flash twice and let students finish the exercises. ②Check the answer. (6)

Intensive reading : ①Repeat and understand the text. ②Explain the key words and phrases. (7)Listen and repeat. Step 4 :Practice (1)

Read by yourself. (2)

Role play reading . (3) Discuss in groups and retell the story. (4) Act the dialogue.
