Step 1 Revision 1.Check the homework. If necessary give students some help. Check and review the students’ homework

Show the information students searched on the Internet Step2 Presentation Free talk about pets

1.What is its size? Is it big or small ? 2.What about its colour (eyes, fur, paws)? 3.Is it clever (friendly, lazy, noisy)? 4.What does it eat?

5.What does it like/dislike? Students talk about their favourite pets Help students know more about animals. Step3 Reading & Thinking 1. Ask students to read the passage about Amy’s favourite cat. 2.Answer some questions. 1) What does the cat look like? 2) What is she like? 3) What does she like/dislike? 4) How does Amy look after her? 5) Why does Amy like Poppy? Read the passage and, answer the questions one by one. Think about what each paragraph is about and try to summarize. Know how to write about their favourite animals Step 4 Discussion 1. Ask students to finish Part B onP103 2. Ask students to share their answers in groups. Finish part B and discuss. Find out the useful and difficult phrases and sentences in the writing. Know the four parts in the writing and give a direction of the students’ own writing.

Step 5 Writing 1.Ask students to write their favourite pets. 2.Ask some students to share their Writings. To read some books about animals. Write an article about their favourite pets. Finish the writing and correct the mistakes. Consolidate students’ writing ability by writing an article alone. At the same time, it can develop students’ different abilities.
