Ability goals: 1. Master how to know what balls others have by asking questions.

2. Consolidate the use of general questions and “have/has”. 3. Master the use of “do and does”.

4. Improve students’ speaking and writing skills by finishing different tasks. Emotional goals: 1. Learn to cooperate with their partners by finishing the tasks. 2. Learn how to be more confident in class. 3. Learn the importance of sport. Teaching aids: Multimedia, a blackboard and some objects Important and difficult points: 1. Consolidate the use of general questions and “have/has”. 2. Master the use of “do and does”.

Teaching procedures: Step1. Greetings Greet each other. Step2. Lead-in 1. Sing an English song “Sports ball song”. Let students sing the song together, and think about “What’s the song about? ”

2. Free talk Ask some questions: (1) --What’s the song about? --Balls. (2) --Do you have a soccer ball? --Yes. I do. / No, I don’t. (3) Practice in pairs and act out their small conversations.

Step3. Presentation 1. A asks B “Do you have a…?”, then B asks A the same question and answer the question. T asks C and D “Does A / B have a…?” 2. Practice in small groups and act out (Two students use “Do you …? ”, the other two use “Does he/she …?”). 3. Show pictures to practice like this: A: Do they have a…? B: Yes, they do. / No, they don’t. Step4. Practice 1. Finish the exercise in 3a. 2. Complete the conversations in 3b. (1) Discuss and read the conversations, then fill in the blanks. (2) Check the answers. 3. Finish the exercise in 3c. (1) Find the things in the picture. (2) Ask and answer questions like this: A: Does Bob have a soccer ball? B: Yes, he does. / No, he doesn’t. (3) Ask some pairs to act their conversations in front of the class. Step5. Guessing game Ask three students to act in front of the class and others guess. 1. Use the sentences below to guess: A: Do you have a …? B: Yes, I do. / No, I don’t. 2. Guess and make conversations like this: A: Do you have a…? B: Yes, I do. / No, I don’t. C: Does he/she have a …? D: Yes, he/she does. / No, he/she doesn’t. Step6. Exercise (Grammar Focus) 1. Complete the sentences according to the Chinese meanings.

Step8. Writing Write a short passage to describe the room. 1. Discuss what there are in the room in small groups. 2. Writing (1) One group write my room using “Look, this is m room.
