教学资源准备：录音机，电脑

教学过程：

Step 1 情境导入（导）

(Play an English song and let students learn to sing it. Lead in the new words sing and dance.) T: Today we’ll learn our first lesson. First, look at my actions and guess the meanings. (Then lead out all the new words one by one. Show some pictures for students to practice these new words.) Step 2 教学新知识（学）

(Teach Activity 1a. First, ask students to look at the picture carefully.) T: What can you see in the picture? S: There are some clubs in it. T: What are these clubs? S: They are art club, English club, chess club, swimming club and music club. T: Right. Now match the activities with the people, then we’ll check the answers together. (Lead students to look at the picture again, and read the sentences one by one. Explain some language points.) Step 3 Free Talk（议）

(Use the picture and the new words to lead out the important sentence structure: -Can you…？-Yes, I can. /No, I can’t. -I want to join the art club.) For example: T: Can you sing? S: No, I can’t. But I can speak English well. I want to join the English club. (Ask students to practice with this sentence structure.) Step 4 Practice（评）

Listen to the tape and finish activity 1b. Check the answers. Step 5 Show Time（展）

Give them enough time to practice the three conversations in 1b and make their own conversations. Finally, invite several pairs to act out for the whole class. Step 6 Test（检）

Make sentences by using Can.
