Unit 8 Pets Integrated skills

教材简解

这是译林牛津版英语教材。该教材的特点是完全按照任务型教学的原则设计语言实践的活动，每个单元都围绕一个话题，让学生通过体验、实践、参与、合作、交流和探究等方式学习和使用英语，完成学习任务。另外，每隔三个单元还有一个旨在提高学生用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析和解决问题能力的课题（project），让学生综合运用在这几个单元中所学的语言知识、语言技能及学习技巧，以培养他们口头交际能力、动手能力、自主学习能力、创新能力及合作精神。

这本书有新鲜、丰富的话题，纯正、规范的语言，有趣、多样的练习。学生通过参与、探究和合作等实践方式，学会如何用英语与他人交流，表达自己的思想。同时，学生可以领略别样文化，体验异域风情。这本教材总共有六本书。每个年级分为上下册，每册共八个单元，每个单元分为Comic strip &Welcome to the unit, Reading, Grammar, Integrated skills, Study skills,

和Task。该单元七个部分基本围绕着school life这一话题展开，语言技能和语言知识都是依据这一中心话题而设计的，从而达到通过本单元的学习，使学生对学校生活有更多的理解，对自己的学校生活和他人的学校生活有个比较，同时学会用英语谈论学校里的日常生活和一些活动。

教学过程

Step 1 Lead-in 1. Enjoy a video. Answer a question: what animals can you see? T: Good morning boys and girls! Now we live in a world full of animals. 2. Have a guess. Guess what animal it is. Show some pictures to learn the new words and expressions in the passage. Try to describe the animals. T: Read the sentences and guess what the animal is. It likes eating fish and good at catching mice. It loves to sleep on you knees. It is a cat. It likes eating carrots and has long ears. It is lovely and it can run fast. It is a rabbit. It has colourful feathers. It can sing and we can teach it to speak. It is a parrot. We can watch it swim around at home. It doesn’t make any trouble. It just bubbles. It is a goldfish.

3. Read the words and phrases together. Step 2 Presentation

1. Present some pictures and try to say one sentence.

I like my ________ because ______________________. 2. Show the picture again. Say and learn something about goldfish.

It is a special goldfish. Look, it has long and beautiful fins. Its tail looks like a fan. So we call it fantail goldfish. Now , please listen to a talk on the fantail goldfish and help Peter check his notes. 1). Finish the exercises on Page 99, and then check the answers. T: Peter is listening to a talk on goldfish and writing down some notes. Listen to the talk and help him check his notes below. Write a T if a sentence is true or an F if it is false. 2). Ask students to finish Part A3 on Page 100, and then check the answers.

T: Peter recorded the talk. Listen again and help him prepare a fact sheet about goldfish with the correct information.

T: After the talk, Peter calls Amy to tell her about goldfish. Complete Peter’s answers with the help of the information on Page 99. T: Let’s read the dialogue together. Read in roles. Boys read Peter’s words and girls read Amy’s words.
